6/15/2017 4 Comments Animal Face Gamer GlovesPoro's count as animals right?? I think they do, after making the panda faced gamer gloves I thought, hey I could make poro ones too, and the poros are just too cute to be left out. They are such adorable balls of fluff that are happy to see you, so I couldn't think of a reason someone wouldn't want that little face smiling back at them! Plus they seemed like a perfect fit for gloves because I bet they'd be very snuggly and gloves are like warm snuggles for your hands XD I thought a panda face would be cute and boy was I right. This one is probably my favorite of the three, pandas are pretty adorable and having a little smiling face looking back at you is always nice! I was looking at conversations I had, had a couple of months ago and realized that I was probably inspired by someone who was talking about liking panda. I am really glad that I had that conversation because it made me come up with these :3. I of course had to make kitty gloves too! I think they turned out pretty cute but I may change them some. I feel like some of the little details that you normally think of when you think of cats (like whiskers) get kind of lost because the colors are pretty similar but that also has to do with the time that I took the picture (it was kind of overcast). I may just test it out and see what other colors I like I was thinking about doing white, as I think the whiskers will pop better but we will see! I have so many ideas for gloves and other things that it will probably be awhile until then. Regardless I do think these ones turned out pretty cute!

My boyfriend started checking the peoples ranks that we were playing with and against in flex que because something seemed to be up. Some game it just seemed like one lane would completely stomp another, and there was nothing that could be done about it. Well it turned out that a plat 5 facing a bronze 5 may not be the most fair thing. These people we are playing with maybe silvers, golds, bronzes in flex que but then in solo/duo que they are actually plat or diamond and that's fine for him and I to fight against but pretty ridiculous for the bronze on our team to fight against.
It just doesn't feel right for everyone on the team to be in "silver" in flex but really they are no where near silver in solo/duo que. The skill gap between bronze to plat is pretty large and I really think the flex que ranking should be affected by it (and I kind of think that the diamond players looking to just stomp noobs should have their fun squashed, go pick on someone your own size!). I would figure that this would already be in the works because I doubt my bf and I are the only ones that noticed the drastically solo/duo que ranks of the people all playing together. I also think changing this may make people take it more seriously. I'm not really sure why but there seems to be this idea that flex que doesn't matter (even though we are supposed to get more rewards for getting gold in both) and bringing it to a more even playing field should help change this thinking. It seems like far too often people give up before really trying when things are too difficult and I guess the drastic difference in ranks is one of those things. Hopefully this change would make flex que a better experience, because right now it is a pretty begrudging task, one that I just want to get over with instead of actually enjoying the experience (& doubt that is very healthy for the game!). I hope the rewards are worth it and that next season we get to see a more even playing field! I see it all the time where something new in a game comes out so the company posts it on their social media and instead of being excited about the new thing people are complaining about something else. I've actually tried to stop reading the comments because of this. And I want to state that there is a huge difference between complaining and suggestions. You can very easily suggest something without it having to take away from this cool new thing and put that suggestion in a better place. It seems like one of those moments where people forget to stop and smell the roses. Not only did we just get something new in game but on top of that a lot of work probably went into giving us this new thing, and I honestly feel bad that the people who created these things aren't being praised more for them. Sure not everything is going to be my style or the next persons style but that doesn't mean we have to react negatively to it. Someone put a lot of time and effort into this thing and that is beautiful whether it is my kind of beautiful or not.
It is just a little reminder, to see the bright side of things and that there is a better way to go about giving criticisms (which as a secondary reminder criticisms are not useful unless they are constructive). I'm sure every one of us has worked hard on something and seen others work hard on something then had someone to come along and stomp all over it (metaphorically or physically) and it sucked. Those people receiving all those bad messages, all that negativity are just people like you and me. Morals of the story. If someone works hard at something they should be praised (even if it isn't our personal preference), there is a better way to go about giving criticisms that just being negative and toxic (if you don't know how to fix it/make it better, why criticize? Suggestion are better, it is easier to improve or change something when you know which direction to go), and do unto others what you'd want done to you, would you like to receive so many negative message about something completely different than what the post was about? And seriously look on the bright side, we just got this shiny new thing in a game! That should be an exciting event!! While I make the gamer gloves mainly for computer use I have found that they are good for other activities as well. I've had a lot of people get them because they are cold/get cold easily. I've had various artist get them from digital art, to tradition art, to making jewelry ect... They are great for a lot of different things, I even wear mine while crocheting because I get cold very easily. I've also had people get some of the longer ones for winter, then use them as a keyboard pad during the spring. I know a lot of offices can get cold as well, I actually did a special pair a long time ago for that reason (it extended further towards the fingers). For working on tables that dig into the wrist or forearm the longer gloves are nice, I actually made some for my mom because her little table was digging into her arm when making her jewelry. I would have made one for my boyfriend too but I did something a little different (he gets hot very easily) where I made a desk edge protector, basically it covers the edge of his desk for he doesn't get a bruise from the desk, it is the same idea though. I've had some people even get them for part of a costume which is pretty cool! Then they can also have the duel use of being part of the costume then after the party they can be for gaming! I'm sure I will find out more and more other uses for the gamer gloves as people get them for alternative uses. I am excited to see that kind of out of the box thinking because I think they could have a lot more uses than just the ones I normally think of and am glad to have helped so many people already!
4/8/2017 0 Comments LCS League of LegendsI personally like watching the EU LCS (I like the casters, and it is at a better time for me). I like watching the LCS because I like to learn about what the pros are doing, now that doesn't mean I will take everything they are doing into solo que because being a pro group is very different from being solo/duo but it there are of course things that I can and like to learn. It is observational learning, and watching/doing is how I learn best (reading them doesn't translate over nicely for me). This is the only sport I watch because it is the only one I play, I get bored very quickly of watching more traditional sports because I don't play them, and I have no drive to play them. Chasing a ball around is just not really my thing *shrugs* (or any other objects like a puck).
Being able to be a deadly Sylvari is (gaming cross over Zyra is pretty much a Guild Wars 2 Sylvari). What I like about the EU casters is their hype and their insight, sometimes I feel like with other regions it isn't as even of a mix with the caster. With NA it feels more like it is about they hype, with a lot of the Asian regions it is all about the insight. I feel like EU LCS falls somewhere in the middle of that and that is where I like to be. I want to be hyped about the games but I also want to understand why they are doing the things they do, and how little micro decisions can truly impact the games. Most of the things I watch are to learn something from (this is why I love the history channel, and some science/travel shows too), and I feel like I get a pretty healthy dose of observational learning from watching the pros and from the analysis the caster bring! Feeling bad for the toxic person does not mean that they shouldn't be punished. Sometimes they don't even realize how bad their behavior is and need the punishment to realize their wrong doing. With that said though, you should feel bad for the toxic person. I know it is easy to get angry back or even let them get to you but most of the time it really has nothing to do with you. The toxic person is that way because they are unhappy in real life. Happy people don't go out of their way to make others unhappy, there is no reason to when you are happy. When you are really happy you just want others to join in and feel as happy as you are, its intoxicating and infectious. It could just be a bad day, and that person is lashing out because of it. It could be multiple bad days, or a situation that they feel stuck in, whatever it is, it is bringing them down. This doesn't mean that every unhappy person is going to take it out on others but the unhappiness definitely can make it easy to do so. I'm sure you've had a time in your life where you were mad about something and someone else came along not really doing anything to you but you still got upset with them anyways. This is much easier to do in video games because of the anonymity and there are probably a lot of people who don't feel bad about it because they didn't have to see the other persons reaction. You don't have to accept that persons behavior as normal, mute, block, report them, and hopefully they will realize what they've done wrong. If you are on the other end of this and are the toxic person, troll, or griefer, take some time to figure out what is truly bothering you. Are you in physical or emotional pain? Is there someone who upset you and you didn't talk to them about it? Are you in a situation that is making you unhappy? Did you just have a bad day? The list goes on, but if you use that energy to figure out a solution to the problem instead of taking it out on others you can put yourself in a much better place. Even if there isn't a solution to the problem, you could still cope with it in a more productive way. You shouldn't bottle up your emotions but there is a better way to deal with them than taking it out on others. If you don't know what that is look it up, there are tons of different things you can do to help yourself, not all of them may work for you but if you take the time you will find one that does you can and will be happy. There is no reason to stay miserable when you could be doing something to change your situation, even if that change is just the way you look at it. CategoriesAll Crochet Guild-wars-2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World-of-warcraft Miss Fortune is a pretty mobile champion other than during her ultimate. Her strut makes her pretty fast, and allows for better positioning, and ease of dodging skill shots. With the rest of her kit it seems weird that she can't move during her ultimate. She still has to be pretty close to her targets unlike Jhin and is easy to cc and kill during her ultimate. I think it would be better if she had a smaller ultimate cone but was able to move like Lucian. Since she is a pretty mobile character otherwise, having to stop to do her ultimate just seems off, it doesn't really feel like it fits her kit properly, and on top of that in the Assassins/Tank meta having to stop moving to do an ultimate at such close range can definitely mean death. I've always liked Miss Fortune, I thought she was fun but as I don't like being an ADC it makes it difficult to want to play her. Even as a support, the other champions that come to mind when thinking about someone who has to stand still to ultimate, have a much larger range. For a couple of seasons now Miss Fortune hasn't felt on par with the other ADC's, she has been sitting at the bottom of the barrel of ADC's and I think reducing the size of her ultimate but allowing her to move during it could bring her back. This season has not been easy for ADC's and making someone who is shorter range immobile on top of it doesn't seem like the way to go. I would love to see her ultimate updated! CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft Sometimes you will get that person that is toxic and once you mute them they keep being toxic by spam pinging. I'm sure that if you've played ranked you've probably seen this. I'm not talking about a complete muting of their pings but limiting their pings to only make the noise once. It can be pretty hard to concentrate when someone keeps spam pinging, but you also don't want to turn off the sound completely because you get very used to it. I have a hard time playing without the sound because a lot of my timings on abilities and when to run, where to go are based on the sound. I found that out when my League kept getting bugged and there would be no sound for me until I restarted the game. I feel like this would take the wind out of the sails of spam pingers, and prevent them from being able to be toxic by spam pinging. You know there are those people out there who just spam ping to be annoying and unfortunately it works. On the other side of this, when someone is pinging so much that sound stops being important data to the brain (an example is how someone can get used to living by an airport or high way and not notice the noise, but when a guest goes to their house it is really loud, they aren't used to it yet, but the house owner is). So on the flip side of this when there is someone pinging too much it can actually cause people to stop paying attention, which can make them do stupid plays because they no longer even hear the noise. If I'm playing a ranked game I want to have fun and win, and usually with people who spam ping neither of those things is easy. It would be fine if the symbols still show up on the minimap, but having the noise only sound once would be a huge relief. CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft Supports don't make as much gold as everyone else, and then on top of it they have to buy the sightstone and gold items. The gold item is fine, it is a nice starter item that evolves but it could be better at its end stages. Giving the support 2 slots one for wards and one for a scanner would be perfect. Everyone could have it but only the support role would have it fill with something. This could upgrade over time so at the beginning you wouldn't be able to put as many wards and as you hit certain levels it would upgrade upon going to the base and getting the free new one.
Instead of having this role put on the support what I think would be cool would to be to vote, in champion select you could vote for who gets this extra item to upgrade. Personally I think it would make more sense for jungles, this way they could ward for any lane. You could even just decrease the cooldown on the trinket wards, and make it so that the other people are the main warders and the support is the ward clearer. A lot of people don't like playing support because you aren't as strong as everyone else. Which sucks, it makes it not very fun especially with a mandatory item that doesn't do a whole lot for you. 800g could easily be half of an item otherwise. As a support main I would love to see this changed. It would improve the feel of support if you were able to be on a even playing field with the other lanes (especially if you pick a damage support). I want to feel like my job is just as important as anyone else's, and that I can really feel like I can carry the game. I felt like this all of the other seasons (I started playing season 2 but didn't really do ranked until season 3), but the season 7 has not felt as kind. Giving me the opportunity to do more damage would help to compete with these buffed assassins and that is something I really hope for. You know that one guy that has like 2000 ping and is just feeding all game? Yeah, so that is what I am thinking of. What if instead there was a ping test for ranked so that someone who has a crazy high ping like that can't go into ranked. They wouldn't lose points for it but the match wouldn't happen with them either. I don't understand how someone can viably play with that high of a ping, if it is something like a couple hundred I've done that before but 2000+ is pretty bad. I know it would be annoying for that small group of people who have crazy high pings but it would be so nice for everyone else. Every time I see someone pinging that high of a ping they just feed like crazy and that isn't fun in ranked games. If they want to play with that high of ping in normals and feed that is fine but ranked is supposed to be for people that are really trying and I mean how hard can you really try and when you're lagging that bad the whole game?
I would hope this would cut down on the people who are disconnecting over and over again the whole game, and would force them to fix whatever is causing their very high ping or not play during that time (like when someone is downloading a movie or something like that). Most people who play ranked would probably welcome this change as everyone dreads the dc being on their team. Since you can't really throw a new player in when there is someone disconnecting like crazy it would be best to try to keep the person that is disconnecting and too laggy to play out of the game. |
