Rift Herald isn't a very contested buff and they don't know what to do with him at the moment (or at least didn't when I was writing this). What if Rift Herald gave bard heals. They would drop on the ground around the person periodically, and if they weren't used they would charge up to be more powerful heals. The time in between these dropping would have to be pretty long but this could definitely be useful for top or jungle or even middle depending on the match up. It would last for 5 mins and drop heals, maybe every 30 seconds to a min, somewhere in there. That could be a big buff to a top laner that is losing and of course to one that is winning. It should have a 1-2 second arm time so that if you didn't want to use it you could move away from it and the buff icon would have to be a clock. So it would show when the next one would spawn and this could allow for people to be more strategic with where they would drop, and so they wouldn't drop them at the fountain or could avoid doing this at least. A buff that would drop heals would be a highly contested buff and would make people more likely to get Rift Herald. This would also change the game play of top or could help junglers that aren't as strong in the jungle. I would love to see what could be done with this idea and how it would impact competitive play. Would it be contested more than dragon to get the jungler or top lane ahead? How different would the laning phase for top lane be? How could you use this to your advantage and should other people be able to pick up the heals you drop? If other people could pick up the heals would you switch ADC and support to top? There are so many questions to answer with this one and I think it could add something pretty cool to the game!

I don't know about you but I am pretty sick of having anywhere from three to five people bottom lane all the time. This season it seems worse than ever. And what can really be done to change that? It is normally two very squishy champions, which look like tasty slices to assassins.
My boyfriend had this idea, what if you randomized the dragon, rift herald, and baron spawns? The pits are the same size so they could appear in either of them without that being a problem. If you had it so that it didn't show which one was going to be spawning in the pit until it actually spawned or a couple seconds before it spawned, that would add some really interesting flavor to the game. Right now ADC and support go bottom lane because of the dragon, it makes sense because this lane can take it the easiest with the jungle but what if you broke up that monotony? If you never knew where it would spawn so either way you would have to be prepared and how prepared could you really be in both areas? I think especially in competitive this would be really interesting. What sets the best teams apart from the others is their ability to adapt in game, you can have a plan going in and do all of the proper steps but how well can you really prepare for something with RNG like that? It wouldn't be that easy and it would really show who is the best at the game, which teams could really adapt to this ever changing environment. I like this idea as I am pretty sick of having all of those people bottom, if it spawned top that would give top island a chance to fight for something too instead of being on an island. Also I think it would be interesting if they would despawn when the other one would come up. So if the dragon and baron timers are a little bit different, which ever one was already there would despawn for a couple of second or right as the other one spawns and possibly swap places. It would be like dragon and baron had a deal to play musical chairs. This would cause teams to be very careful of the timers because if they did baron at the wrong time they may not be able to take it before it disappears. I like adapting in game instead of having a very ridged set of things happening all the time, and I think this change would be unique. It could really add to both competitive and ranked, and would give top lane the opportunity to do something other than be on an island and teleport every once and awhile. I welcome the challenges this would bring and really look forward to the idea of this or something like this happening. My boyfriend's brother had a pretty cool idea for the rift herald buff. He thought that if it gave the wearer an increased vision range that it would be a highly contented buff. To this point he thought that this buff would also allow for the wearer to see over walls with this increased vision radius.
I thought this was a pretty cool idea. At the moment no one really gets rift herald because he isn't worth the time it would take to get the buff, the only people I see getting it are top lanes that are already really far ahead. They use the buff to snowball the lane even harder, but other than that he is just left alone until baron kicks him out of the pit. If the buff was changed to an increased vision radius I could see jungles or roaming middles using this buff. It would insure safety when going to invade or when roaming especially if they were trying to go behind a lane. This would also be really interesting in competitive, how would they use this buff? Would it go to the middle or jungle? How far would the increased vision range be? What would change in order to protect this buff from getting taken by the enemy team? And how would this change top island? I think that these would be some interesting questions and this change could greatly impact the way the game is played. It would make the buff more useful and would change the competitive scene, causing them to have to adapt to more in game situations. 2/13/2017 0 Comments ScarsYou know that when you see a character in a game with a scars that they are a badass, and I believe this to be true in real life too. I like my scars, they prove to me that I was stronger than whatever tried to hurt me. I am actually kind of disappointed that one of them went away after putting cocoa butter on it twice (that stuff is magic). I had this pretty cool scar that was about 4-5 inches long on my arm in a straight line, it came from running into the refrigerator door handle with a hot cookie pan (surprisingly I didn't drop the cookie pan when it burned me, I didn't want the dogs eating the chocolate in the cookies XD). It looked pretty awesome when it healed and more like a thin knife scar or something like that. I think it is important to be proud of your scars, whether you can see them or not it is important to realize that you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you. There is a certain beauty to scars because of this. I still have a little scar from them burning off endometriosis in my belly button, the other incision scar healed. I was in so much pain for so long and they didn't even believe I had endometriosis, but did an exploratory laparoscopy because they didn't know what was wrong with me. I was pretty sure but nervous and it turned out I was right. I was right all along, and finally I had fixed it. The scar is a reminded that I was in pain for so long but I over came that. I found the solution even when others didn't really believe it would fix anything and now I'm healed and better. So, many times better than I was, and that is important because even in the face of adversity I persevered, and I am stronger now because of it. Always remember that scars are a show of strength, if you have them let them remind you that you are strong. You beat something that tried to hurt you, you won the battle and that is a testament of your strength! CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft Sometimes life feels more like RNG on that mount drop, where it is uncertain but the thing is that mount does drop, which I think people forget sometimes. The more you work at something, the more success you will see. It may be like that ever illusive mount but at some point it will drop. Working for something in a video game proves that we can find a way to get whatever the goal is. It proves that perseverance is worth while. Butt, butt, butt. (I hope you read that in the minions voices XD). I wanted this mount for sooooooooo long and tried a bunch of times to get it. The headless horseman's mount because all of my holy characters are supposed to be riding undead horse. That is just the way it is XD, I loved the irony since I started playing and there is no reason to stop now. And finally it dropped, I was so surprised because it was on one of the last days. This mount proves to me that as long as you are persistent you will get the mount. You will get what you want as long as you keep working towards the goal. I know sometimes it's rough and seems hopeless but, for all you know if you give up it could be right before you'd strike gold. Right before you would accomplish your goal.
Life has taught me this over and over again, but I think the most fun way to learn this lesson is in Video Games. The never give up, never surrender is built into the games, if you want to get something you have to keep working for it, and this may be one of the most valuable lessons in life. If people give up on their dreams before completing them, the world will miss out on some wonderful ideas. Don't let the graveyard be the riches place, where so many ideas leave the Earth. The harder you try the closer you are to your goal, even if it doesn't seem like it, each step forward is important. If what you are doing isn't working, try something different, look for advice and research, but for the love of God keep trying! It is important to me, and should be important to you that you make those dreams a reality, because beautiful things come from perseverance. Be the hero of your story, and never give up, and never surrender. You got this! I believe in you! 2/6/2017 0 Comments Why do we play Video Games? For me video games give me a sense of purpose. Sometimes real life has things going on that aren't so great or you just aren't really getting to be the hero in real life or many other reasons. Video games give us something that we may not get in real life. They allow us to be the hero or... the villain. They can relieve stress and be relaxing or challenge us. Video games have something for everyone. Personally I am competitive and like completing goals, and I like the stories. With how much I like making up stories it is actually kind of surprising that I'm not a huge lore person. One of the really cool things about MMO's especially is that they tell a bunch of different stories. If you think about an author and that they have a couple of books, that is all well and good but if you think about an MMO and how many little stories go into all of those characters. How many unique individuals you will find while playing the game is pretty crazy. These games inspire me, all of the work that goes into developing a world, one in which people feel more at home than they may in real life. That is pretty magical. For me I love that you get to be the hero and that if you continue working at something you will get it. It is a very powerful message, and one that is important to learn. The never give up, never surrender attitude that game designers help build is something pretty powerful. Plus in video games we get to go to some really beautiful places. This art inspires me, looking into the distance of mountains and snow is beautiful and someone created that. Actually a lot of people worked together to create that. They worked together to make these beautiful worlds full of wonder and majesty.
I play video games for many reasons but some of my favorites are the inspiration they give me, and the challenges I have to overcome. 1/28/2017 0 Comments Wrist PainWrist pain is pretty common for gamers because of putting a lot of pressure on a small area of the wrist. My gloves are one way to help with that as they provide a cushion to prevent that from happening as much. I will put a button at the bottom that takes you to them but I really wanted to talk about some of the other things you can do too. It took me a long time to really figure out why I was getting pain and what I could do about it. One of the other things I noticed was that my shoulder and wrist were hurting. Finally I realized that because of being on a laptop and having no chair arms to support my arms that it was making my shoulder hurt and putting more pressure on my keyboard wrist. What I did to fix it was put a pillow under my elbow to help with that, and the pain has gotten a lot better. One of the other things I realized was that my left wrist was weak. My right hand is my dominate hand so it is stronger than my left one. This weakness was causing me pain because I just didn't have enough muscle to do the things I was doing so I started lifting weights to try and improve the strength in my left wrist/arm. It has been helping and I plan to look for even better exercises to strength it more as I go along (and as a side note working out is really good for you so it is helping my body overall! Make sure you are doing the exercises correctly though because doing them wrong could really hurt you and also make sure that you know what is wrong with your wrists before doing this as some exercises could hurt it more). There are various stretches you can do as well the ones I know are for wrist tendinitis but different conditions call for different stretches, so if you have really bad wrist pain make sure to see a doctor to find out what is wrong and what you can do for it. Basically to sum it up make sure that your wrist is in a good position while using the computer or just pushing your wrist hard on hard surfaces or it can cause you pain. If something feels off take the time to find a solution to it. Sometimes little fixes can make a big difference :). The button takes you to the gaming gloves section of my shop! CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft 1/21/2017 0 Comments Lessons from MMO's A Success StoryWho doesn't love seeing the hero beat the odds (other than maybe Barney Stinson lol)? MMO's give us that, they give us the chance to be our own success stories. It is a beautiful magical experience trying so hard for something then finally getting it. This lesson is an important one, so often people give up on what they want because they've failed a couple of times, but failing is okay, failure means your trying. So often you hear about the success stories the people that made it big but you don't hear about how many times they failed to get there or how hard they had to work. Success don't just happen (for more people), you work for it, just like you work for beating that one boss that is giving you trouble. For me I don't know how many times I had to try to defeat Professor Putricide before we finally got it. At the time it was a hard fight for our raid but finally we got it. Some of the first screenshots I took of getting twilight, my first legendary and boy was it a lot of work, but I am happy I have it. One of the great things about video games is that they have something you work for and to get that thing you have to keep going, never giving up. It is important to remember that great things don't always come easily and failing isn't a bad thing, failing is teaching, teaching you what needs to be changed to get on the right path. Like dying on a fight over and over again until finally you figure out the mechanics or look them up. Life isn't always easy, but as long as you stay on track and keep trying you will be your own success story. Never give up, never surrender, if life has taught me nothing else, this would be the most important thing to know. I've gone through a lot for me and at some points I thought about giving up, but I didn't something always pulled me back. And its a good thing that it did because I am in a much better place than I was and on the road to my success story (with little success stories along the way :)).
It is another important part of this lesson, to enjoy the little successes. It doesn't always have to be a big step to be valuable, each little step takes you that much closer to the end goal. Like when the boss is so close to dead when you wipe or you reached the gold promos and lost. You got there and you will get there again, and do even better. If you ever feel like giving up, just remember how far you've come, how many battles you've faced and won, and remember to keep looking at where you want to be. Do not lose sight of the end goal, as long as you keep your focus on getting there and have faith that you will, you will find a way. You will be your own success story. 1/20/2017 0 Comments Cooler Gaming GlovesI wanted to make some gaming gloves for family, but they live in a warmer area. That's when it dawned on me. If I used a similar stitch to one that I had just used for a scarf I could make a cooler gaming glove that still gives support but has vents on top. This is what I came up with (I took it apart three times before I got to this). Because the stitches are farther apart it leaves room for the air to travel through the top of the gloves (personally I think a size larger than your normal hand size is even better for this because it allow more air to get in because there is more room). The bottom of the glove is the same as my normal gaming gloves with the thicker stitch. This way it still gives the wrists the cushion they need but allows the hands to be cooler. As most gamers know when your playing games you will usually get that red mark on your wrists (which can sometimes be pretty painful). I've known some people who get cuts or blisters there because of the constant rubbing and pressure. This prevents that. There still may be a little bit of a red mark but it goes away fast and doesn't get to that cuts/blisters point. I redid the gloves I made for my boyfriend as well, he was getting the mark with pain but the gloves were too warm for him so I redid them to be cooler for him (For him I also made a desk edge cover, it is kind of like a sock that covers just the edge of his desk because he was getting pretty bad bruises from it constantly digging into his arm). I've had a lot of people ask how warm the gloves are because they didn't like being warm or figured it would make their hands sweaty (personally I wear mine all year round regardless of how warm it is because of how much they help but for someone who is worried about that these are definitely a better choice). Trust me you don't want your wrists getting messed up (I had tendinitis in both of my wrists) you use them for Everything, until I hurt them I didn't realize how much I actually used them and how big of a deal each little wrist movement can be.
To sum up these gloves are a lot cooler than the other gaming gloves but still give the wrists a nice wrist cushion to prevent pain and rubbing that can happen while playing video games (or doing any activities that make you press your wrists hard on a hard surface, a lot of desk activities have you doing that). They are great for people living in warmer areas or who are just normally warmer. The button takes you to the cooler gaming gloves listing :). ADC is my least favorite role, it seems like everything is trying to jump on you and kill you. As ADC you become the damsel in distress of League of Legends lol. All of the Ad bruisers are trying to get to you, assassins, mages, supports, jungles, pretty much every role is trying to kill you. It is like you have teemos global taunt on you, and a deadeye on your face (Overwatch McCree reference).
Normally I play support (ones with a lot of CC) so going from having all of these ways to protect myself to having nothing, being aaaaaaaaaalllllll alone with noooooobody there besiiiiiiiide me (you have to sing it XD), is like oww my face, bam dead. I mean when it comes down to it unless your playing with most of your teammates you aren't really getting protected as ADC, and even if someone (like me as support) is trying to protect you, having three people on you is something one person can't really protect you from, especially now that Camille is out, its like what do I do with that... Your positioning has to be really really really good to not die (especially in the assassin & tank meta). You have to know when to run from the fight and when to come back and deal damage. As a Zyra support main I don't know how to do this, I go balls deep on Zyra to snare/ulti people and make the plays so my ADC positioning is terrible. Going balls deep on ADC, not usually a good thing... doing that usually just makes it easier for the enemy team to kill you XD. Twitch is probably my favorite ADC because of this (I actually used to love Vayne a long, long time ago, but with so many ADC's and Supports being able to out range her, I stopped playing her, I remember when she first came out you could actually solo baron with her lol). Twitch at least gives you some forgiveness for bad positioning because of his stealth, it can't really be that bad if they can't see you lol. All around ADC is just not my thing but even more so with this assassin/tank meta. I see ADC's getting cut down before I could even snare anyone, the new assassins are so fast T_T and scary D:. I don't know how ADC mains feel about this season but I doubt it would be a great feeling, unless your positioning is amazing. ADC's always the damsels in distress XD. |
