12/31/2016 0 Comments Happy Salt!! For the Salty Gamer!I was asked to make this happy salt as a custom order and I loved it!! I totally think of League of Legends or Overwatch players when I look at it. And it is so cute that it is like an extra slap in the face (like getting finished by rainbows with unicorns on them or a cow butt in Guild Wars 2 >.> <.<, it adds the insult to injury lol). I mean look at it?!?! It is like I know you are salty from that loss and my adorableness is mocking you. Happy salt is probably one of my favorite custom orders I've done because it is so funny. It seemed like such a great gag gift that I put it up on my Etsy too (Link to Listing). Happy salt actually has little spots on the top like the holes on a salt shaker too XD. And someone who is angry after a loss could throw happy salt with minimal damage to things (Still have to be careful with the eyes but definitely better than throwing a mouse, keyboard, or headset! Kind of like a "Damnit Doll" for gaming XD from what I understand they are usually for sports XD). All around I love happy salt, in all honesty I may have to make a happy salt for myself for it can mock me when I get salty after a loss, and I mean how salty can you really stay after looking at that adorable little face! I feel like it needs a song something like "Happy salt, Happy salt, for those moments when you are super salty, Happy salt, Happy salt (fade out) XD". The original game is free to play (the expansion Heart of Thorns is not). The original game being free to play does give someone considering playing Guild Wars 2 the option to try it (there is no subscription fee either). Seeing as there isn't really a down side to trying the game, I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to try it XD. This is actually the way the game looks (which sometimes seems pretty crazy to me, it is so pretty!). Pretty of course is not the only reason to try it (I actually convinced my parents to play and they have been loving it, especially my mom :)). I love the combat, when I play Guild Wars 2 for awhile then go to the other games I play, I catch myself trying to dodge roll (as a note that doesn't work in the other games I play >.> <.<). I love being able to move and cast most of my spells (there are a couple exceptions), and all around being able to do everything myself. I don't have to rely on a healer or tank when doing dungeons or just questing out in the world (having my own heal is <3). I hope that as time goes on the Spvp and Esports scene will grow (they've been making a lot of good changes to facilitate growth). The pvp in Guild Wars 2 is very fun and I feel like I can carry my team, which I don't always feel like I can do in all of the games I play (like in League of Legends when the Riven is like 14/0/7 and just eats me as Zyra Support D:). And the story, I have actually been more upset at some of the things that have happened in the story, than I have with some of the shows I've watched (you know its good when it makes you feel something). I think the living world is very unique and interesting, and it is easy to get lost in the story, which is a pretty cool mix of watching a show (or a moving painting at some parts) and playing a game. There are so many more things too, like Guild Halls, WvW, Guild Missions, The Raid, and more! Since Guild Wars 2 is Free to play, you can always try it (if you haven't already), and get lost in this beautiful world :).
12/29/2016 0 Comments In Game Calendar, Guild Wars 2I would love there to be an in-game calendar. I really like the in-game calendar in World of Warcraft, and have never really understood why something like that wasn't put into Guild Wars 2. A lot of times when the holiday events are going on I don't really know when they are going to end and sometimes finding the article that has the dates can be a bit of a pain. Guild Wars 2 has so many convenient features, it just seems like a calendar would fit nicely by the PvP swords! Even if it wasn't updated before an event was happening it would be nice to have for when an event is actually going on so, you could just check in game :).
MMO's (massively multiplayer online (gaming). I figure that everyone reading this will know what it means but just in case! I know the MMO's I play World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2 teach some pretty great lessons. I think one of the very powerful ones is that 1 brave soul can save many. The start of the story is wonderful. "Even one brave soul wielding the light can save the lives of thousands". And this is true, I know it may seem hard but think of some of the greatest people in history (I always think of Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi, they stood up for what they believed in but in a way that I would say was wielding the light). I watch mysteries at the museum and there are so many stories of one person saving a couple of people to many people. That doesn't always mean saving their lives from certain doom but it does mean saving them from a terrible fate. (On a side note the more I learn about the Draenei lore the more I fall in love with them) In these games I am the hero of the story (as a person that plays a healer in World of Warcraft I am also the one that controls in game life and death XD). There are a lot of times where I will go out of my way in Guild Wars 2 to rez people or just in general try to help them (I do that in World of Warcraft too but not as much >.<, Guild Wars 2 community has kind of a helping attitude which pretty easily rubs off on you). I have flown out of the sky in World of Warcraft with levitate a couple of times to save a stranger that was dying though. That is probably why I've always liked being the healer, it has always felt like the savior of the story to me. It has always been like the story of T'uure (I don't know how many times I've died at the end of a fighting because I was busy keeping someone else alive (and because I know I get Spirit of Redemption when I do die, free mana :D), to be able to finish the boss fight, to win!). I get a lot of joy out of it, healing and being able to save the day. One of my favorite movies and one of my favorite quotes. That I think also points nicely to how much of an impact one person can have. I hope that you find inspiration from these beautiful stories like I do. Form these worlds where you are the hero, you are the difference between victory and defeat. It is a good reminder of how important you are and how much you could do. Everyone has that hero inside them, it is just up to them whether they show it or not. I did the ToC dailies every day, I would even solo the dragon (because I was a Paladin). I did get ganked a couple of times doing that but normally people didn't want to mess with me XD. I always thought the jousting was neat. I always loved Renaissance Faire so being able to joust in game seemed like the perfect homage to Ren Faire. The tent! I know this tent oh so well, there were many days where I would log out in here, to be prepared to do the dailies again the next day. Every once and awhile I will still do them (even though there is nothing that I need to buy from them XD). This part of the raid was what I remember the most. The group I did this with was hung up on Professor Putricide for what felt like forever. I remember the time we finally killed it being in the corner with puddles filling up the rest of the room lol. It was a mess. Then after we killed him, the real challenge came to be (I don't remember having a lot of problems with the other bosses until Lich King). He was a bit of a nightmare at the time, and the sigh of relief when we killed him from everyone was pretty crazy. The goal was to kill him before Cataclysm came out and we did, with some time to spare. This somewhat gloomy and ominous place became my home, every week going to it, with a group of people (Some of which became my family, my boyfriend, and his brothers).
I guess it is a good example of how memories and people attached to things are the important parts, you would think a place so dreary wouldn't be so well loved but it is, I think because a lot of people have good memories like mine of the people and being able to down the boss, The Lich King. He was everywhere and finally after seeing him so many other places getting to defeat him, was a pretty cool experience. Some of my best memories will forever be of this place and the fun I had, with some pretty awesome people :). 12/26/2016 0 Comments Mermaid BlanketI really love making blankets so making this as a custom order was really exciting! I've made a bunch of blankets for family (Including one for my Uncle made of 3 pounds of yarn lol it is huge, he wears it like a cape XD. It was perfect for him because he keeps his house cold and is pretty tall!) but not very many blankets for orders! I would love to make more of them! They are wonderful and very warm! The Mermaid blankets are a really neat idea! I mean you get to become a very comfy mermaid what more could you ask for XD. The person it was for asked for the tail fin to be two different colors and it looked awesome! They went so well together! I love doing custom orders like this! The button at the bottom takes you to the Etsy listing, for anyone that is curious! These blankets are pretty great!
12/23/2016 0 Comments Tis the Season, Guild Wars 2Holiday events!! Guild Wars 2 has my favorite Christmas events :), and it is just so pretty!! It is neat that there are a bunch of different events that you can do. Toypocalypse is the one that I always look forward to (I like being creative with the little maze like area, with walls and catapults, and I mean smashing the miniature version of the Tyria... XD). I was a snowman XD. Along with Toypocalypse there are a bunch of other things to do like Tixx's Infinirarium (the dungeon), Winter Wonderland (the jumping puzzle -.- it stresses me out lol but is very pretty!), Snowball Mayhem, And Bell Choir Ensemble. I also like protecting the dolyak that drops gifts XD, extra presents for me! The festive spvp lobby! I always thought it was neat that there would be reward tracks for the holiday events. I always save up my potions for the Halloween one (for the bag at the end of the track), but thought it was neat that there was a Wintersday one too :). I like to pvp so hopping out into a festive lobby is always nice (especially when you see Santa XD). I was having a lot of fun with the snowman XD. Most years I don't have a whole lot to do around the holidays (mainly because of my asthma to perfume =(, being around other humans is hard...) so I always like the in-game stuff. It brings a little more cheer to the holidays. Running around in the world and finding presents is another nice thing, I love opening the presents, even if the loot isn't that good it is still fun. I always loved the mystery of what will I get next? (I loved opening dyes too but have managed to calm that down with them being expensive and having almost all of the colors :D). All and All Winterday in Tyria is something I look forward to and I am glad that they have all of the different little events to do for the holidays :).
12/22/2016 0 Comments Tis the Season, League of LegendsYou have no idea how excited I am that the Summoners Rift is going to be snowy again. When I first started playing League of Legends, Summoners Rift became snowy around Christmas but for years it hasn't been. It has been as green and growing as ever! I missed it ever since. With the addition of the of the poros it feels even more festive (and the presents are a nice touch :)). Isn't he so cute :3? He almost looks huggable lol (be careful not to hug him from behind though, it hurts... XD Baron isn't very good at hugging unfortunately XD). A poro would make a perfect present! The new biscuits for snowdown look pretty cool too! I especially like the flamethrower one :3 so much damages, they all looked pretty cool though, from watching the All Stars event it seemed like a lot of mayhem! The main thing that I look forward to are the skins though. I don't really do the holiday game modes I stick with ranked (which is why I am so excited for the snowy map!). The Braum skin is really nice and Graves kind of getting back his Cigar is pretty funny (even if it is a much healthier version XD). I am still bitter about the Karma rework (I've held quite the grudge) so any new skins for her don't look great to me but I'm just bias. I like that the other Holiday skins come back too (a long time ago they didn't), it is nice to know that I can get one again at some point :). Maybe like a nice Bard skin (the hot coco is too good but I didn't really play him before so I never got the skin XD). I am definitely more excited for this years Snowdown than I have been! Snowy map full of poros and presents you are my friend :DD.
The pictures are from Surrender at 20 (since I am writing this before it is actually out) http://www.surrenderat20.net/2016/11/1116-pbe-update.html 12/21/2016 0 Comments Tis the Season, World of WarcraftWinter's Veil, it is actually one of my least favorite holiday events (my favorite being Hallow's End, then the Midsummer Fire Festival). I don't know I just never really got into it, I think part of it is because of all the people standing on the quest giver intentionally just to be annoying. I do like opening the presents though! I thought the lounge cushions last year were a nice touch :). I had to go about opening the presents on multiple different characters to make sure to get all of them XD For Winter's Veil that is the only thing I usually do, because I mean who could turn down opening presents XD. For the most part I just like to look at stuff for this holiday more than anything. At the presents and the tree and the festive people wearing the holiday outfits. Other than that I'm not sure there is much else to say about Winter's Veil. It is a cute little holiday event with presents :).
12/20/2016 0 Comments Guild Wars 2 and Misc. Striped OptionsFor the Guild Wars 2 colors, I tried to go with what would embody the professions the best. I really like the Air Elementalist colors, something about going from the soft purple and white of the lightening, to the harsh black of a darkened sky seems very awesome to me (and powerful). Even in the first Guild Wars I always loved the lightening abilities. I've lived in multiple different areas that had some pretty interesting thunderstorms. My favorite was the snowing lightening storm. The lightening made all of the little snowflakes shimmer in its wake. It was truly beautiful. Ever since then I have had a special love for lightening (and a deep respect for what it can do). Now who doesn't love rainbows? I mean they are beautiful and an amazing symbol of hope! These gloves are very happy, warm, and inviting! All the perfect things for a glove to be! Ursula! Disney villain and yet her colors look so wonderful together. How much I like the colors together actually makes me rethink if she was really a villain or if many she was just misunderstood like Maleficent. Nightmare, I made these gloves for my boyfriend (his favorite colors), but all I could think of was a nightmare, I mean how many horror movies have used these colors lol. They still look really cool together, black and red just go together. They are like two peas in a pod, born of the night with a lust for blood (that line just sounded so cool in my head XD). It only makes sense for him since he plays a dirty rouge (spelled wrong on purpose, trade chat forever changed their name for me XD). Why not leave off with a dark rainbow, perhaps the colors were darkened by a setting sun, only in the distance can you see the faint rainbow, a ghost of what it once was in the vibrant day light.
Links to the Gloves that were in the pictures. There are many many other listings that have the striped options like Wrist Protectors, Wrist Warmers, Scarves, Shawls, Blankets, and other Gaming Gloves that vary in lengths! I only put buttons to the ones that I showed pictures of though! |
