6/15/2017 4 Comments Animal Face Gamer GlovesPoro's count as animals right?? I think they do, after making the panda faced gamer gloves I thought, hey I could make poro ones too, and the poros are just too cute to be left out. They are such adorable balls of fluff that are happy to see you, so I couldn't think of a reason someone wouldn't want that little face smiling back at them! Plus they seemed like a perfect fit for gloves because I bet they'd be very snuggly and gloves are like warm snuggles for your hands XD I thought a panda face would be cute and boy was I right. This one is probably my favorite of the three, pandas are pretty adorable and having a little smiling face looking back at you is always nice! I was looking at conversations I had, had a couple of months ago and realized that I was probably inspired by someone who was talking about liking panda. I am really glad that I had that conversation because it made me come up with these :3. I of course had to make kitty gloves too! I think they turned out pretty cute but I may change them some. I feel like some of the little details that you normally think of when you think of cats (like whiskers) get kind of lost because the colors are pretty similar but that also has to do with the time that I took the picture (it was kind of overcast). I may just test it out and see what other colors I like I was thinking about doing white, as I think the whiskers will pop better but we will see! I have so many ideas for gloves and other things that it will probably be awhile until then. Regardless I do think these ones turned out pretty cute!

I of course had the Mesmer inspired gloves done a long time ago but recently I decided they needed some friends and went about making a bunch of other ones too. The Mesmer is my favorite class and I've been in love with them since before beta, (when I saw the pistol trailer). Being illusive and shattering into a bunch of butterflies is cool, and pretty unique. It is big part of why I loved the Mesmer so much. They are very different from any other class I've played! The Guardian is probably my third favorite class. I really like Guardian for PvP, plus they reminded me of my Paladin which was nice because when I started playing Guild Wars 2 I had stopped playing World of Warcraft (Cataclysm era yuck :P, it got way too over hyped for me & I ended up really disliking it because of that). I like that the Guardian can do a bunch of different things, DPS, Support, Bunker and it is very good at all of those things. I do think with Heart of Thorns they did make the classes more even in being good at all of these things but the Guardians being able to use a longbow really made me excited to play them in a whole new way (I'm not much of a melee person, I like my ranged characters), it gave me the max range Guardian something I didn't know I was looking for but definitely needed! Engineer is probably my 4th favorite class, it is really hard for me to ranked them though because I have a little love for all of them (except Warriors, I just don't find them fun... they are kind of boring and sluggish feeling to me but they are the only class I dislike which is saying something). I like going around on my Engineer and doing quests and whatnot, I think what I really like about the Engineer is the turrets. It is like I have these mechanical pets that don't move but help me do the damages! I also found a new love for farming with the Engineer now that I have the Autopicking up Mastery (my goodness I love that thing, feels good man, feels good). My first Character in World of Warcraft was the Hunter, so playing the Ranger in Guild Wars 2 brings a similar feeling to those good memories. I like being able to have a pet and my Ranger is my only Azura so it has extra value as my pets are normally the same size as me (I think its funny). I also like to name my scarier pets ridiculously cute names (my Smokescale is name Snuggledoodle, those things are the stuff of nightmares but somehow with that name it is super cute and cuddly XD). The last one I've made so far is inspired by the Thief, I like the Thieves agility but I am not very good at them. I don't know, I just don't seem to have that killer instinct (I'm not very good at my rogue either, I kind of just button mash >.> <.<). I do like being able to get across and entire map in like 2 seconds though (an exaggeration but dang they are really fast). I also like popping in and out of stealth and confusing people, but when it comes to killing them that is another story, I am much better at running away...
I am still working on making a Necromancer and an Elementalist set. I haven't worked out how to make the Revenant or Warrior ones yet but I plan to make those at some point :). I am excited about how these ones came out and may do some more testing on a couple of them, but over all I am pretty happy with them! Tracer is a pretty well known character, and she is one of the first characters that I watched someone play before trying Overwatch myself (I did not watch very long as her warping all over made it hard for me lol). While playing she can be a really fun character for the person playing her and a pretty annoying character for those playing against her. Altogether she is a pretty cool character and one that is pretty iconic for Overwatch. D.Va Bunny! D.Va was one of the first characters I really started playing. She is a tank so that of course would be a direction I would normally go, and her ultimate is really fun. I actually liked it better when she could end up killing herself with it (I thought it was funny, I died, a lot) because it took more skill to get that ultimate in there without dying. She is probably one of my all time favorite characters because she is relatable as a gamer! Bastion is my boyfriends favorite character, he also has the cutest little voice line noise in Beeple, I would make that noise at my boyfriend until he would make Bastion make it all the time while we were playing. When I was thinking about making him I was like "What can I do?" thinking about symbols or Ganymede and realized the gamer gloves were the perfect shape for making his head instead! Symmetra is one of the other characters I was playing a lot while I was trying to find the one. I thought the turret killing was pretty funny, if your not on the receiving end on it at least. So for her it had to be the turrets! You just have to be careful and luckily these gloves have friendly turrets on them XD. My favorite of the Overwatch inspired gaming gloves that I've made so far, is for one of my least favorite characters! I can't decide if I hate Junkrat or Mei the most but they are both up there. Junkrat is a crazy character and I feel like I captured that in these gloves. He also has a lot of fun colors (I've been liking yellow more and more, and with black it looks great, it has such nice contrast).
I am really happy with them so far, I plan to do more, it is just figuring out how I will make the different shapes. I am excited to have made gloves that are related to so many fun and unique characters. I also love that Overwatch is such a colorful game, it makes a very fun set of colors to work! The button goes to the Etsy listing for these gamer gloves for those interested in them! I did a different blog to show them without the comparison but I thought it would be nice to show them together here. The half shirt I still think looks nice either way but having it just sit there not being worn it looks much more like a smiley face! You can also see the little floof it gets better when it is worn. I wanted to do colors that were like water, so I also wanted it to have a very free and flowy feel to it! I am really happy with how it turned out, and am super in love with these colors, they are so soft and pretty together, and have a very peaceful feel to them! The summer top I feel shows best how different they can look on verses just sitting there. These colors are a little crazy for me usually I don't wear things with so many different colors, but I really liked the warm earthy feel of this yarn (and it was a gift for my birthday so it seemed fitting to make something for myself with it :)). Warm colors tend to look nice on my skin tone so I figured they would look nice as a top for me :). The bralette doesn't look that different to me, but I do think it would look nicer on someone who has that baby butt cleavage. The way I made this one has a style that would make that kind of cleavage look really nice! I really like how I made it have an hour glass feel to it with there being an open triangle at the bottom and could definitely see it worn on a hot day, especially to the beach!
All of these are actually pretty cool, I know sometimes people think that because they are made of yarn they are going to be warm but that isn't the case. If the holes are big enough they can definitely cool. My personal favorite is the half shirt, it reminds me of the ocean, and of all the pictures I've seen of tropical waters. I think I would like the bralette more if I had the right cleavage for it, but it still looks nice. I would love to see it on someone with the baby butt cleavage and see it at its full potential! The colors I made these in are my preference but I have so many more colors that they would look good in and a lot more ideas for other shirts! 5/14/2017 0 Comments Before Wearing Them.My mom wanted me to try on this one shirt a long time ago, it was a mix of pink, green, and black (each color being a little more dull instead of super bright), and I was like that really isn't my style... seeing as those colors weren't really my thing especially together. But I tried it on anyways and it actually looked really nice on me, between the colors and the way the shirt was designed it made my body look really nice. I've come to realize that clothes look a lot different just sitting there, than they do when you are actually wearing them. This one is a great example of that because it looks way, way better on than it does just sitting here. The colors look kind of crazy and it seems like it may not look that good on but when I actually wear it is looks a billion times better. I still think this one looks cool sitting there, it does kind of look like a rather happy face too though! Even just sitting there it has the soft ocean feel that I wanted, and I am really happy with how it turned out. The plan is to move somewhere warm so I have been working on a bunch of different styles of these. I have always liked half shirts so making these is right up my ally and should keep me nice and cool when it is hot! I do think that each of these look much better on than they do sitting here. Flat they don't really show off how well they fit the body, but regardless I still think they look pretty cool! And I am sure you will see what I mean when I actually take pictures in them!
Yog is probably the scariest of gods out of the ones released at the moment. He is also the one that is best for destruction. His tentacles allow him to destroy structures where others cannot and up until making him I didn't really think you could make a scary amigurumi, but I was wrong seeing as he is a pretty intimidating fellow! I did some pretty unique things to bring him to life, and am pretty proud of myself for figuring out how to make the shape of his head, it couldn't just be a normal circle because that just isn't how Yog's head is, through increasing in the correct spots I managed to make that unique shape. He has razor sharp teeth, a crazy tongue, tusks that are ready for a fight, and menacing tentacles, most of all I feel like I captured his essence. Normally I do cute and cheery things and making him was out of my wheel house. I am glad that I stepped out of it to know that I can make something scary and ominous as well. All of his different parts add up to a pretty unique process and experience. Before putting the tongue, teeth, and eyes on he was pretty cute! He is not up on my Etsy at the moment but the button does take you to the Amigurumis section. I do custom orders though and would definitely be willing to make him again!
5/11/2017 0 Comments Why I Love ColorsI've always loved colors, whether I worn them or not was different story (during my goth days there wasn't that much room for very many colors). The more I've been crocheting, the more I've been branching out with colors. I've been seeing all of them in a whole new light so to speak. I've also started liking stripes a lot more, but that is kind of a random side note. As I create new items I learn to appreciate different colors along the way. Each color has a place all of its own and there are so many different ways to make it fit with another. Now when I go to the store in search of a new color I picture it in a bunch of different ways, especially with the mixed yarns. I think of all the things that it would look good on and how it makes me feel. Each yarn invokes a different feeling for me, partially because of the softness of it partially because of the color. Is it warm tone or a cool tone? Is it somewhere in between, and what is the first thing I think of when I see it? Colors are important to us for many different reasons. Whether it is your favorite color or one that you like, each color has a different meaning to different people. The way someone feels about a "minty" color could be completely different from one person to the next. I personally love the smell of fresh mint because my grandma and I used to take mint from her garden and make fresh mint tea with it, so seeing a color that represents mint as a very warm and inviting feel to it for me. The same goes for most of the colors I have, each one has a unique memory attached to it, and feels different because of that. I love colors because they tell a story, because they are an expression of who we are and what we love, because they can mean so many different things, and because adding new colors can change the world around us. We can go from a dull and dark place to a happy and joyful one with just a little bit of color and I think that is something pretty special!
Link to my shop in case you want to add some of these colors to your life in unique handmade items :) While I make the gamer gloves mainly for computer use I have found that they are good for other activities as well. I've had a lot of people get them because they are cold/get cold easily. I've had various artist get them from digital art, to tradition art, to making jewelry ect... They are great for a lot of different things, I even wear mine while crocheting because I get cold very easily. I've also had people get some of the longer ones for winter, then use them as a keyboard pad during the spring. I know a lot of offices can get cold as well, I actually did a special pair a long time ago for that reason (it extended further towards the fingers). For working on tables that dig into the wrist or forearm the longer gloves are nice, I actually made some for my mom because her little table was digging into her arm when making her jewelry. I would have made one for my boyfriend too but I did something a little different (he gets hot very easily) where I made a desk edge protector, basically it covers the edge of his desk for he doesn't get a bruise from the desk, it is the same idea though. I've had some people even get them for part of a costume which is pretty cool! Then they can also have the duel use of being part of the costume then after the party they can be for gaming! I'm sure I will find out more and more other uses for the gamer gloves as people get them for alternative uses. I am excited to see that kind of out of the box thinking because I think they could have a lot more uses than just the ones I normally think of and am glad to have helped so many people already!
3/28/2017 0 Comments Sparkle McSparklepantsShe is a cute little unicorn, so of course she had to have a cute and silly name! I wanted to make a unicorn because I hadn't made one yet (and I have no idea why since mythical creatures are kind of my thing). Since she is an amigurumi she had to be extra cute, when you get/make stuffed animals that is kind of the point. They are meant to make you happy and feel cuddly. I thought about making her mane a couple of different ways but decided to go with the rainbow mane since it feels cuter and more fun. I considered doing a gold mane and a silver one but I really like how the rainbow mane turned out. I also considered doing a silver horn but with all the bright colors in the mane the gold one seemed to fit better and still stand out. Silver here felt like it could get lost a little, and whats a unicorn without a noticeable horn! I think she turned out really cute and I keep sticking her on my boyfriend arm when he is playing games. Turns out she sits pretty nicely on someones arm/shoulder without falling XD. I think it is funny to have her just kind of hanging out with us while we game and I have a habit of making my boyfriend cuddle the amigurumis I make...
I love Sparkle McSparklepants and I am happy to have my very own unicorn! The button takes you to the Etsy listing! 3/23/2017 0 Comments Pokemon I've madePikachu with his little quest heart (Guild Wars 2 themed). I had to make Pikachu because he is the most iconic pokemon (also because I love Pikachu, who doesn't?!). I took him apart a bunch of times, it is a normal ritual while making something new but it was probably a little bit extra with him, because of how well loved he is. He had to be as close to perfect as possible. I think he is even cuter with the little quest heart and it has become his heart because of this! Psyduck is extra special to me because he was one of the first bigger amigurumis I ever made, and on top of that he has some unique features that I were interesting to figure out. I actually made him while my boyfriend was playing pokemon go (I didn't have a phone that could play it, as I had a tracfone, and that was fine because I got to sit outside and crochet :)). I would sit and snuggle his body as I went about making the rest of him! I wasn't really a Psyduck person before making him, but he won me over! Snorlax was extra special for the person he was for because the finished Snorlax has a name on his tummy. I was told that when he arrived they wouldn't stop snuggling him, which is adorable!! I love hearing that kind of stuff! It makes me very happy when my work is so well loved, and when I get to make something special for someone! It is really cool when I get to make unique gifts because you won't find them anywhere else and they mean something extra to the person they are for. I love doing custom colors on things and making new things because of this!
