6/15/2017 4 Comments Animal Face Gamer GlovesPoro's count as animals right?? I think they do, after making the panda faced gamer gloves I thought, hey I could make poro ones too, and the poros are just too cute to be left out. They are such adorable balls of fluff that are happy to see you, so I couldn't think of a reason someone wouldn't want that little face smiling back at them! Plus they seemed like a perfect fit for gloves because I bet they'd be very snuggly and gloves are like warm snuggles for your hands XD I thought a panda face would be cute and boy was I right. This one is probably my favorite of the three, pandas are pretty adorable and having a little smiling face looking back at you is always nice! I was looking at conversations I had, had a couple of months ago and realized that I was probably inspired by someone who was talking about liking panda. I am really glad that I had that conversation because it made me come up with these :3. I of course had to make kitty gloves too! I think they turned out pretty cute but I may change them some. I feel like some of the little details that you normally think of when you think of cats (like whiskers) get kind of lost because the colors are pretty similar but that also has to do with the time that I took the picture (it was kind of overcast). I may just test it out and see what other colors I like I was thinking about doing white, as I think the whiskers will pop better but we will see! I have so many ideas for gloves and other things that it will probably be awhile until then. Regardless I do think these ones turned out pretty cute!

5/31/2017 0 Comments Overwatch Inspired Gamer GlovesThis is Tracer's core that allows her to teleport with the jacket colors in the background. Tracer is a pretty well known character, and she is one of the first characters that I watched someone play before trying Overwatch myself (I did not watch very long as her warping all over made it hard for me lol). While playing she can be a really fun character for the person playing her and a pretty annoying character for those playing against her. Altogether she is a pretty cool character and one that is pretty iconic for Overwatch. D.Va Bunny! D.Va was one of the first characters I really started playing. She is a tank so that of course would be a direction I would normally go, and her ultimate is really fun. I actually liked it better when she could end up killing herself with it (I thought it was funny, I died, a lot) because it took more skill to get that ultimate in there without dying. She is probably one of my all time favorite characters because she is relatable as a gamer! Bastion is my boyfriends favorite character, he also has the cutest little voice line noise in Beeple, I would make that noise at my boyfriend until he would make Bastion make it all the time while we were playing. When I was thinking about making him I was like "What can I do?" thinking about symbols or Ganymede and realized the gamer gloves were the perfect shape for making his head instead! Symmetra is one of the other characters I was playing a lot while I was trying to find the one. I thought the turret killing was pretty funny, if your not on the receiving end on it at least. So for her it had to be the turrets! You just have to be careful and luckily these gloves have friendly turrets on them XD. My favorite of the Overwatch inspired gaming gloves that I've made so far, is for one of my least favorite characters! I can't decide if I hate Junkrat or Mei the most but they are both up there. Junkrat is a crazy character and I feel like I captured that in these gloves. He also has a lot of fun colors (I've been liking yellow more and more, and with black it looks great, it has such nice contrast).
I am really happy with them so far, I plan to do more, it is just figuring out how I will make the different shapes. I am excited to have made gloves that are related to so many fun and unique characters. I also love that Overwatch is such a colorful game, it makes a very fun set of colors to work! The button goes to the Etsy listing for these gamer gloves for those interested in them! I see it all the time where something new in a game comes out so the company posts it on their social media and instead of being excited about the new thing people are complaining about something else. I've actually tried to stop reading the comments because of this. And I want to state that there is a huge difference between complaining and suggestions. You can very easily suggest something without it having to take away from this cool new thing and put that suggestion in a better place. It seems like one of those moments where people forget to stop and smell the roses. Not only did we just get something new in game but on top of that a lot of work probably went into giving us this new thing, and I honestly feel bad that the people who created these things aren't being praised more for them. Sure not everything is going to be my style or the next persons style but that doesn't mean we have to react negatively to it. Someone put a lot of time and effort into this thing and that is beautiful whether it is my kind of beautiful or not.
It is just a little reminder, to see the bright side of things and that there is a better way to go about giving criticisms (which as a secondary reminder criticisms are not useful unless they are constructive). I'm sure every one of us has worked hard on something and seen others work hard on something then had someone to come along and stomp all over it (metaphorically or physically) and it sucked. Those people receiving all those bad messages, all that negativity are just people like you and me. Morals of the story. If someone works hard at something they should be praised (even if it isn't our personal preference), there is a better way to go about giving criticisms that just being negative and toxic (if you don't know how to fix it/make it better, why criticize? Suggestion are better, it is easier to improve or change something when you know which direction to go), and do unto others what you'd want done to you, would you like to receive so many negative message about something completely different than what the post was about? And seriously look on the bright side, we just got this shiny new thing in a game! That should be an exciting event!! While I make the gamer gloves mainly for computer use I have found that they are good for other activities as well. I've had a lot of people get them because they are cold/get cold easily. I've had various artist get them from digital art, to tradition art, to making jewelry ect... They are great for a lot of different things, I even wear mine while crocheting because I get cold very easily. I've also had people get some of the longer ones for winter, then use them as a keyboard pad during the spring. I know a lot of offices can get cold as well, I actually did a special pair a long time ago for that reason (it extended further towards the fingers). For working on tables that dig into the wrist or forearm the longer gloves are nice, I actually made some for my mom because her little table was digging into her arm when making her jewelry. I would have made one for my boyfriend too but I did something a little different (he gets hot very easily) where I made a desk edge protector, basically it covers the edge of his desk for he doesn't get a bruise from the desk, it is the same idea though. I've had some people even get them for part of a costume which is pretty cool! Then they can also have the duel use of being part of the costume then after the party they can be for gaming! I'm sure I will find out more and more other uses for the gamer gloves as people get them for alternative uses. I am excited to see that kind of out of the box thinking because I think they could have a lot more uses than just the ones I normally think of and am glad to have helped so many people already!
Feeling bad for the toxic person does not mean that they shouldn't be punished. Sometimes they don't even realize how bad their behavior is and need the punishment to realize their wrong doing. With that said though, you should feel bad for the toxic person. I know it is easy to get angry back or even let them get to you but most of the time it really has nothing to do with you. The toxic person is that way because they are unhappy in real life. Happy people don't go out of their way to make others unhappy, there is no reason to when you are happy. When you are really happy you just want others to join in and feel as happy as you are, its intoxicating and infectious. It could just be a bad day, and that person is lashing out because of it. It could be multiple bad days, or a situation that they feel stuck in, whatever it is, it is bringing them down. This doesn't mean that every unhappy person is going to take it out on others but the unhappiness definitely can make it easy to do so. I'm sure you've had a time in your life where you were mad about something and someone else came along not really doing anything to you but you still got upset with them anyways. This is much easier to do in video games because of the anonymity and there are probably a lot of people who don't feel bad about it because they didn't have to see the other persons reaction. You don't have to accept that persons behavior as normal, mute, block, report them, and hopefully they will realize what they've done wrong. If you are on the other end of this and are the toxic person, troll, or griefer, take some time to figure out what is truly bothering you. Are you in physical or emotional pain? Is there someone who upset you and you didn't talk to them about it? Are you in a situation that is making you unhappy? Did you just have a bad day? The list goes on, but if you use that energy to figure out a solution to the problem instead of taking it out on others you can put yourself in a much better place. Even if there isn't a solution to the problem, you could still cope with it in a more productive way. You shouldn't bottle up your emotions but there is a better way to deal with them than taking it out on others. If you don't know what that is look it up, there are tons of different things you can do to help yourself, not all of them may work for you but if you take the time you will find one that does you can and will be happy. There is no reason to stay miserable when you could be doing something to change your situation, even if that change is just the way you look at it. CategoriesAll Crochet Guild-wars-2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World-of-warcraft Sometimes life feels more like RNG on that mount drop, where it is uncertain but the thing is that mount does drop, which I think people forget sometimes. The more you work at something, the more success you will see. It may be like that ever illusive mount but at some point it will drop. Working for something in a video game proves that we can find a way to get whatever the goal is. It proves that perseverance is worth while. Butt, butt, butt. (I hope you read that in the minions voices XD). I wanted this mount for sooooooooo long and tried a bunch of times to get it. The headless horseman's mount because all of my holy characters are supposed to be riding undead horse. That is just the way it is XD, I loved the irony since I started playing and there is no reason to stop now. And finally it dropped, I was so surprised because it was on one of the last days. This mount proves to me that as long as you are persistent you will get the mount. You will get what you want as long as you keep working towards the goal. I know sometimes it's rough and seems hopeless but, for all you know if you give up it could be right before you'd strike gold. Right before you would accomplish your goal.
Life has taught me this over and over again, but I think the most fun way to learn this lesson is in Video Games. The never give up, never surrender is built into the games, if you want to get something you have to keep working for it, and this may be one of the most valuable lessons in life. If people give up on their dreams before completing them, the world will miss out on some wonderful ideas. Don't let the graveyard be the riches place, where so many ideas leave the Earth. The harder you try the closer you are to your goal, even if it doesn't seem like it, each step forward is important. If what you are doing isn't working, try something different, look for advice and research, but for the love of God keep trying! It is important to me, and should be important to you that you make those dreams a reality, because beautiful things come from perseverance. Be the hero of your story, and never give up, and never surrender. You got this! I believe in you! 2/6/2017 0 Comments Why do we play Video Games? For me video games give me a sense of purpose. Sometimes real life has things going on that aren't so great or you just aren't really getting to be the hero in real life or many other reasons. Video games give us something that we may not get in real life. They allow us to be the hero or... the villain. They can relieve stress and be relaxing or challenge us. Video games have something for everyone. Personally I am competitive and like completing goals, and I like the stories. With how much I like making up stories it is actually kind of surprising that I'm not a huge lore person. One of the really cool things about MMO's especially is that they tell a bunch of different stories. If you think about an author and that they have a couple of books, that is all well and good but if you think about an MMO and how many little stories go into all of those characters. How many unique individuals you will find while playing the game is pretty crazy. These games inspire me, all of the work that goes into developing a world, one in which people feel more at home than they may in real life. That is pretty magical. For me I love that you get to be the hero and that if you continue working at something you will get it. It is a very powerful message, and one that is important to learn. The never give up, never surrender attitude that game designers help build is something pretty powerful. Plus in video games we get to go to some really beautiful places. This art inspires me, looking into the distance of mountains and snow is beautiful and someone created that. Actually a lot of people worked together to create that. They worked together to make these beautiful worlds full of wonder and majesty.
I play video games for many reasons but some of my favorites are the inspiration they give me, and the challenges I have to overcome. 1/28/2017 0 Comments Wrist PainWrist pain is pretty common for gamers because of putting a lot of pressure on a small area of the wrist. My gloves are one way to help with that as they provide a cushion to prevent that from happening as much. I will put a button at the bottom that takes you to them but I really wanted to talk about some of the other things you can do too. It took me a long time to really figure out why I was getting pain and what I could do about it. One of the other things I noticed was that my shoulder and wrist were hurting. Finally I realized that because of being on a laptop and having no chair arms to support my arms that it was making my shoulder hurt and putting more pressure on my keyboard wrist. What I did to fix it was put a pillow under my elbow to help with that, and the pain has gotten a lot better. One of the other things I realized was that my left wrist was weak. My right hand is my dominate hand so it is stronger than my left one. This weakness was causing me pain because I just didn't have enough muscle to do the things I was doing so I started lifting weights to try and improve the strength in my left wrist/arm. It has been helping and I plan to look for even better exercises to strength it more as I go along (and as a side note working out is really good for you so it is helping my body overall! Make sure you are doing the exercises correctly though because doing them wrong could really hurt you and also make sure that you know what is wrong with your wrists before doing this as some exercises could hurt it more). There are various stretches you can do as well the ones I know are for wrist tendinitis but different conditions call for different stretches, so if you have really bad wrist pain make sure to see a doctor to find out what is wrong and what you can do for it. Basically to sum it up make sure that your wrist is in a good position while using the computer or just pushing your wrist hard on hard surfaces or it can cause you pain. If something feels off take the time to find a solution to it. Sometimes little fixes can make a big difference :). The button takes you to the gaming gloves section of my shop! CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft 1/20/2017 0 Comments Cooler Gaming GlovesI wanted to make some gaming gloves for family, but they live in a warmer area. That's when it dawned on me. If I used a similar stitch to one that I had just used for a scarf I could make a cooler gaming glove that still gives support but has vents on top. This is what I came up with (I took it apart three times before I got to this). Because the stitches are farther apart it leaves room for the air to travel through the top of the gloves (personally I think a size larger than your normal hand size is even better for this because it allow more air to get in because there is more room). The bottom of the glove is the same as my normal gaming gloves with the thicker stitch. This way it still gives the wrists the cushion they need but allows the hands to be cooler. As most gamers know when your playing games you will usually get that red mark on your wrists (which can sometimes be pretty painful). I've known some people who get cuts or blisters there because of the constant rubbing and pressure. This prevents that. There still may be a little bit of a red mark but it goes away fast and doesn't get to that cuts/blisters point. I redid the gloves I made for my boyfriend as well, he was getting the mark with pain but the gloves were too warm for him so I redid them to be cooler for him (For him I also made a desk edge cover, it is kind of like a sock that covers just the edge of his desk because he was getting pretty bad bruises from it constantly digging into his arm). I've had a lot of people ask how warm the gloves are because they didn't like being warm or figured it would make their hands sweaty (personally I wear mine all year round regardless of how warm it is because of how much they help but for someone who is worried about that these are definitely a better choice). Trust me you don't want your wrists getting messed up (I had tendinitis in both of my wrists) you use them for Everything, until I hurt them I didn't realize how much I actually used them and how big of a deal each little wrist movement can be.
To sum up these gloves are a lot cooler than the other gaming gloves but still give the wrists a nice wrist cushion to prevent pain and rubbing that can happen while playing video games (or doing any activities that make you press your wrists hard on a hard surface, a lot of desk activities have you doing that). They are great for people living in warmer areas or who are just normally warmer. The button takes you to the cooler gaming gloves listing :). 1/8/2017 2 Comments AmigurumisAn Amigurumi is a knit or crochet, stuffed yarn creature (so it is basically of stuffed animal where you make the outside fabric by crocheting or knitting). The Amigurumis are different than pretty much everything else that I make, because for the part part they have faces, it really makes them come to life. There is just a different feeling to being able to snuggly Pikachu or Lich King Kitty, something comforting, most animals will want to snuggle with something like them or even with different types of animals. There is a special bond that is created. So even if the amigurumis aren't actually living, they seem to invoke a feeling of life, and of comfort. When I look at them I smile because of their happy little faces (I also smile because making them makes me happy, there is something extra special about getting to make something that smiles back at you :)). Happy salt is one of my favorites its cuteness mocks me as a salty gamer XD, and yet whenever I think of it I can't seem to stay salty for too long! When I made Psyduck I got rather attached to him, he was one of the first bigger scale amigurumis that I figured out how to make (I make up nearly all of my own patterns, I just kind of figure them out in my head and then go about trial and error until I get what I was picturing). It may seem cliche but I really do put love into each one of these, I mean when your making something cute and cuddly how can you not! They are very exciting to make, if it is something knew it is like a puzzle where I have to figure it out from scratch, but eventually I always do :). If I have made it before I get to see it come to life once again, and find the joy in its adorable little face! Some of them don't have faces but still mean a lot to me, because of what they represent. If you've played WoW I'm sure you've used this object a bunch, the hearthstone, and doesn't it just give off a certain amount of comfort? Knowing that you will being going back to whatever inn. Each one of the things I make has a special place in my heart because I got to make it, but the amigurumis have a little bit of extra umph (I mean who doesn't like stuffed animals XD). They are very special to me (and very warm if you put a bunch of them on you lol!).
