The next place I wanted to visit was the Kessex Hills, I had heard a lot about Scarlet Briar and while all of Lion's Arch is new, some of her destruction can still be seen in the Kessex Hills. She is spoken of as almost a legend, a dark and evil one but her story almost seems more myth than fact. How one person could cause so much destruction is beyond me. She isn't even a dragon! Granted she did get a dragon to help her but the destruction up until then was all her and her minions. It is too bad that all of the brilliance went to evil, imagine how much good she could have done... Right as I enter the Kessex Hills I can see part of her tower, it sends shivers down my spine. I had heard that it was a massive structure, that you could barely see the top of, and that it plagued the waters all around it, but this really puts it into perspective. Only the bravest of heroes chose to enter it and they had to be careful of the toxins every step of the way. Even though she is gone some of her toxins still plague this land, sprouting up all over the place, I will make sure to destroy all I see. I do not think this land could take a second round. The base alone is massive, I think a city could almost fit inside here, I suppose in a way it was like a city, an ominous one. The beautiful clouds that lie behind it make me wonder what it was like before Scarlet. Whenever people talk of this place that is all they talk about, but they do not mention what it was like before. I wonder how beautiful it was. The clouds do not seem to notice the destruction, they are still living in the beautiful world they once knew. These structures creek so loudly in the wind, it adds to the haunted feel of this place. It is almost like bones of what once was are hanging out in the wind. Pieces of the structures skeleton, lie all around, I'm not even sure if I should be touching it or if some of the toxins still remain. Regardless, my curiosity has been satisfied, I hope that this land hasn't been completely scarred by Scarlet Briar. Maybe they will dismantle it some day, here's to hoping at least. I don't think I should have been touching the water... or structure... the land around it still seems to be pretty toxic, and toxic creatures are abundant. To my disappointment this land seems plagued by the toxins that Scarlet brought, even farther away from where the tower once stood, toxic seedlings grow. It is like they are an indigenous plant, and have become part of this land. I am not sure if there is a pesticide or magic strong enough to clean all of the land, but I can hope. For now it seems we will have to try to tame this threat along with all the others. I hope that at the very least we can keep it contained. Scarlet's influence runs deep, and now I understand why she is spoken of as a legend. She will forever be a part of the history of Tyria.
