I've always liked the Blood Elf starting zone. It is a really cheerful place to be (and of course as soon as I would get out of Eversong I tried to avoid Ghostlands because of it being the opposite XD). I want to explore the top of this more, I've always loved the Blood Elf towers, I've wanted to bring them into real life more than once! They just call to me, in their beautiful cream colors with gold accents, and red finishing touches. I don't know about you but how and where a character starts can really make or break them for me. It is like the first impression and if that first one isn't great I may not give it a second chance.
I felt at home here and I still do. I feel the same way in the Draenei starting area (it is definitely not as happy but it is nice that you go about helping people). I had played a lot of Night Elves but lost interest over time, the starting area can be kind of a pain because of having to climb trees over and over again. They are pretty cool and I liked it at first but that slowly faded when the convenience factor of other areas came into play. I have all of these quests memorized because of how many times I've done them. I used to have an efficiency route I would take to finish them with the most ease, it has slowly become less important as I level fewer characters, but it still lingers in my memory. The big autumn colored trees always draw me in, and the building fitting so perfectly with them, everything about it feels warm and inviting, and that is how I want to be greeted. I adore that after all of these years I still love this zone, and that it still makes me feel at peace. It is a lovely place to start, an epic adventure.

I like the big dynamic event filled maps. I think that it is pretty cool to meet up with strangers and complete and event together, and then go our own ways or stay together to fight more battles. I like being able to go from gathering node to gathering node and along the way hop into events and then part ways after it is finished. One of the things I think is especially cool is that the whole map can work together. There can be all these separate events, but they lead everyone to the same goal. From the Dark and ominous battle to the rewards at the end. Four different groups have to work together to unlock all of their doors and once they have a grand treasure is revealed. A bunch of people all going to get their treasure chests! I like that Guild Wars 2 is so focused on working together. I think that is a good lesson to teach, and the more you do something the more likely you are to do it in real life too. I love looking at this shot it was so epic! The torn wreckage littering the sky with beautifully fluffy clouds in the background and tall foreboding cliffs. You are never safe in these maps! I went afk to write this and it switched to night time! They feel like an ever changing world, the monsters, and events always fluctuating from one to the next. It is cool and gives the feeling the you won't be doing the same thing over and over again.
You need other people on these maps, not only do you need them, you are also happy to see them, and that is a wonderful feeling. I love being happy to see other people. It is a relaxing experience and that is wonderful! I am on the second part of the achievement, and making the legendaries this way is so much better than before. I made twilight before they made the legendary journey the way it is now, and it felt like grinding the same thing over and over again (which at the time was Cursed Shore events, and Orr in general is pretty dreary and not exactly the happiest place to be). I love that this has been changed. The new changes feel so much more rewarding and there are steps to take instead of just gathering all of the materials and then putting them together, because of the steps it feels like you are making more progress. I don't know about you but just sitting on a whole bunch of materials waiting for what feels like forever isn't that fun.
Not only do you get the feeling of getting somewhere but you don't have to make a bunch of gold to buy the precursor (which was annoying, I actually knew someone who had a monopoly on them at one point) or hope that it drops or get lucky with the Mystic Forge. All of these routes felt painful and uncertain, but with the new legendary journey I get to build my precursor and I love that. I like getting rewarded for progress instead of hoping for good RNG. This way still takes awhile if you don't have a bunch of gold to buy materials and there are some things that you actually have to go out and do (it wouldn't be very legendary if it was easy though). It also rewards you for doing old content, which I love because I like doing the quests over again on different characters and wandering around the zones gathering is a very relaxing past time. I love the new system for making legendaries and I like that each one has its own unique things that you have to do and get, it makes you feel more involved in the process and you get a story behind the legendary. I am much happier with the changes they made and I continue to be excited to see the new legendaries. A shield with a quaggan in it is awesome, Nevermore I love, and there are so many more cool legendaries. I am super excited about all the new ones to come out in the future! I'm sure they will be awesome as well!! 3/10/2017 0 Comments Standard Hats!I am a big fan of colors. I love having a bunch of different color options, and making something unique because of them. The hats are pretty cool to make and I love the colors in this one because they are pretty happy blues, which isn't something you normally think of with blues because they are cool tones but it works! The hat I made for myself is in the priest colors. I want to be surrounded by happy things so that includes the hats! I know hats aren't normally striped but I think it works and it gives the essence of the Priest in World of Warcraft with the bright holy light! This warm and fluffy hat was super soft, I actually don't know how to describe how soft and comfortable it is. I love the warm and fluffy yarn, because of this it is so nice to the touch! The hats in the mixed yarns end up in some really cool patterns. I love that with this one it almost looks like long waves of color swirling around my head. Not to mention that I love this yarn it is so pretty and happy!! I actually didn't like mixed yarns before I got this yarn, it brought me over to the mixed yarn side! The colors look wonderful together so its kind of hard not to like it! I love making the hats, they end up really cute! These ones are very happy and it is always nice to know that I making something that will make someone more comfortable! The buttons take you to the Etsy listings for the hats! CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft To start off, survival games aren't really my thing. I'm a pretty peaceful person so feeling obligated to fight other players isn't really my jam. With that being said I do like building stuff. It is under the constant threat of being attacked though, and you can lose everything. Basically treat it like Game of Thrones characters and don't get attached. I like gathering resources so that part is pretty neat, and the better tools you have the more resources you get . I would say it isn't a game for the faint of heart, because of how easily you can die and lose everything, and because of the nudity. You can change it so the characters are covered, partly nude (which doesn't change anything for male characters from completely covered to partly nude, you see boobs if it is a female character), or completely nude (floppy peep, vaginas and butts everywhere). My character even has back dimples, it is crazy how realistic the muscle structure is.
You know that one guy that has like 2000 ping and is just feeding all game? Yeah, so that is what I am thinking of. What if instead there was a ping test for ranked so that someone who has a crazy high ping like that can't go into ranked. They wouldn't lose points for it but the match wouldn't happen with them either. I don't understand how someone can viably play with that high of a ping, if it is something like a couple hundred I've done that before but 2000+ is pretty bad. I know it would be annoying for that small group of people who have crazy high pings but it would be so nice for everyone else. Every time I see someone pinging that high of a ping they just feed like crazy and that isn't fun in ranked games. If they want to play with that high of ping in normals and feed that is fine but ranked is supposed to be for people that are really trying and I mean how hard can you really try and when you're lagging that bad the whole game?
I would hope this would cut down on the people who are disconnecting over and over again the whole game, and would force them to fix whatever is causing their very high ping or not play during that time (like when someone is downloading a movie or something like that). Most people who play ranked would probably welcome this change as everyone dreads the dc being on their team. Since you can't really throw a new player in when there is someone disconnecting like crazy it would be best to try to keep the person that is disconnecting and too laggy to play out of the game. 3/6/2017 0 Comments PsyduckMaking Psyduck was a new experience for me. He was the first Pokemon I made and to figure out his duckbill I had to be pretty ingenuitive. When I make an amigurumi I come up with my own pattern, which means I have to figure everything out from scratch. I normally will take something apart multiple times until I get it just right. Psyduck was no different and I probably took him apart more than others. One of the pretty neat things about doing this is that he is my own, since I'm not following someone else pattern he is different, than any other Psyducks. Which I think is pretty cool, I like being able to make up my own patterns and make something unique.
I actually got pretty attached to him when I was making him because he took me longer to figure out. When I was making him I started with his head and body so as I was making the other piece I would snuggle with him. It was probably pretty cute as I happily went along. He is special to me because he was the first and I feel like I was really able to capture his essence. I had fun with his arms as I wanted him to be his signature pose. He was really fun to make and I am very happy that I did, and that he has a lovely new home :D. 3/5/2017 0 Comments Midsummer1942I've been asked where the name came from a lot. At the time I was reading a lot of Shakespeare and playing Battlefield 1942.
I was reading so much Shakespeare that I would think in old English! Most of the plays I read were tragedies, but A Midsummer Night's Dream was not and even though I liked Taming of the Shrew as well, that didn't have a very good name to it. At the time I made my name, A Midsummer Night's Dream was the last Shakespeare I had read, so it became part of my name. Along with that I used to be a pretty good sniper in Battlefield 1942, I used to play with people that were older than me at a Cyber Cafe that my dad was working at. He was helping a friend with getting to computers set up and fixing some of the broken ones. There were two separate rooms and each room was its own team, and I could hear the guys in the other room all looking for me. I kept head shotting people, it was easier to be a sniper because you didn't have a bunch of people with automatic weapons running around. I loved it, that was a pretty happy memory as there was a full out man hunt going for me! I was younger than pretty much all of the guys so the phrase "getting beaten by a little girl" definitely applies! Shakespeare and Battlefield 1942 don't seem like they would mix well but that is kind of who I am. I'm a pretty odd combination of fun and critical thinking and the name has always stuck for me because of the story behind it. I went to this flightpath and when I landed I was surrounded by Horde, which reminded me of this picture. I didn't die that time luckily but there have definitely been other times where I was obviously not welcome.
When I see a big group of the opposing faction I always get that "oh shit" feeling where my stomach instantly sinks and I am looking for the closes exit. I know this feeling all too well as it seems like my Draenei is on the wrong side. I feel like I get killed more by Horde in general than I get killed by Alliance. Not sure if that has to do with the servers I chose or not but I think it might! I looked all over for more Alliance sided servers but forgot about some of the servers being linked. I don't mind dying that much, unless it is a long run. Normally if I die I just go afk and do something else for a bit, which I think takes all of the fun out of someone spawn camping. Actually I know it does and I find that highly satisfying, as they aren't able to get joy out of my misery. Sometimes it feels like there are a lot of schadenfreunde playing WoW (getting joy out of others misfortune), and being able to not give them that is nice. To bad Schadenfreunde, too bad... I digress, I've definitely felt the sting of not being welcome but there is also something thrilling about it. You never know for sure if you'll live and your a little on edge because of it. Is someone going to kill me? Or am I going to make it out? There is definitely a thrill to escaping unscathed and it is very satisfying. Sometimes you just have to wipe your brow and be thankful that this wasn't the time, or even better is when you make the great escape. When you are being chased and get somewhere safe just in time or manage to evade the person until they give up. Those are some pretty satisfying moments, and definitely an ah ha moment in the face of your attacker. I may not always be welcome but the places I am, are pretty great and that is something to look forward to! |
