3/23/2017 2 Comments Unpopular OpinionsI don't know about you but especially with this election season I've been feeling lost. Lost in all the hate and anger. In the war between parties, but I don't even know why people are fighting each other. Both options were bad so I'm not even sure how we ended up here. I am genuinely worried, worried about what is to come because of these decisions. I have been trying to keep the peace in my soul but it is hard when there is so much fighting going on. I don't even understand why these intelligent people I know would so fiercely defend people they know aren't good. There is this thought that we have to choose the "lesser of two evils" but why? Honestly why, why are we just accepting this? "Because it is the way its always been" (this is the most dangerous phrase in the English language).
There are so many "problems" that people worry about that shouldn't even be problems, because everyone cares way to damn much what other people are doing. Honestly I don't care if someone is gay, bi, straight, or any other way they identify sexually (you could consider yourself a cheeto, I don't care). I don't care about peoples skin colors, I don't care about their genders, I just don't care. It is none of my damn business, if they aren't hurting anyone (and no hurting anyone doesn't constitute as them just doing something someone else dislikes even though it really has nothing to do with them). There are so many stupid things that are issues that shouldn't be honestly. It isn't someone skin color that makes them "bad" it is the culture they grow up in. Poor culture is very different from middle class. What these groups of people have to go through is very different (and don't even get me started on the rich, especially those from old money). The culture of growing up in a war zone is very different from living in mostly peace. These people need help. The people who are doing bad shit, they are mentally unstable, because happy or mentally stable people at least, they don't go out of their way to hurt other people. In the recent past it hasn't been with guns even its been with cars, and explosives and anything that can be used as a weapon, because its not about the weapon its about the person. If a person really wants to murder another person they will find a way. We need to be focusing on mental health to fix this. I don't know why we aren't focusing on it more, it is probably more important than our physical health as it can determine our physical health. I don't even understand why people care so much about someone else sexual orientation, and I'm Christian. Trying to "fix" someone and make them heterosexual just makes things worse and puts the person in an even worse place. It also pushes them farther away from faith (something that irritates me the most, people that say they are Christian but just seem to do everything in their power to push others away from faith). That shit really pisses me off. I am just so sick of this shit. I am trying to be positive over here, and make the world a better place, but that is hard when people are so hell bent on being upset. Honest to God it seems like there are so many people who just want to be angry loathsome people (I mean look at who our president is). I don't like using the word stupid, I truly don't because I want to see the good in everyone and maybe they just shine at something else, but honestly how much stupidity is going around makes me upset. It feels like people are doing two things over and over again. Not looking at the situation from someone else perspective and letting their emotions drive them. I do believe that we should show our emotions and shouldn't hold them in but being so emotion about every situation, come on get it together and think about it logically. People seem like they are just running around like chickens with their heads cut off just letting emotions drive them. Instead of all this bickering, we should find solutions, because sitting here and fighting stupid wars on the internet isn't changing anything. You can't push hate and anger and expect love and joy. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only light can do that" ~Martin Luther King Jr. Please, lets just breath, and then find some actual solutions to what is going on. It is important.

Sometimes you will get that person that is toxic and once you mute them they keep being toxic by spam pinging. I'm sure that if you've played ranked you've probably seen this. I'm not talking about a complete muting of their pings but limiting their pings to only make the noise once. It can be pretty hard to concentrate when someone keeps spam pinging, but you also don't want to turn off the sound completely because you get very used to it. I have a hard time playing without the sound because a lot of my timings on abilities and when to run, where to go are based on the sound. I found that out when my League kept getting bugged and there would be no sound for me until I restarted the game. I feel like this would take the wind out of the sails of spam pingers, and prevent them from being able to be toxic by spam pinging. You know there are those people out there who just spam ping to be annoying and unfortunately it works. On the other side of this, when someone is pinging so much that sound stops being important data to the brain (an example is how someone can get used to living by an airport or high way and not notice the noise, but when a guest goes to their house it is really loud, they aren't used to it yet, but the house owner is). So on the flip side of this when there is someone pinging too much it can actually cause people to stop paying attention, which can make them do stupid plays because they no longer even hear the noise. If I'm playing a ranked game I want to have fun and win, and usually with people who spam ping neither of those things is easy. It would be fine if the symbols still show up on the minimap, but having the noise only sound once would be a huge relief. CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft Once you actually finish the quest heart a reward chest with a message from the quest giver will come up. This one is very nice talking about the kindness that I showed. It sends a good message, which I appreciate. Having the morals to the story in little bursts and trying to teach people to be kind is always a great idea! I liked that while doing the "Help the people of Ebonhawke" quest some of the people would realize that there was no reason to keep promoting separation and that this person looked at it logically, realizing that there was no proof. That is a pretty important message as misinformation gets spread all the time in the real world because of people trying to spread a false narrative. It is important to think about the whole story and all sides of the story and having an NPC realize that, is something I appreciate. There are some pretty important lessons that come from Ebonhawke as it is an area still full of conflict. In the first Guild Wars Charr were not a playable race, they were the race you fought a lot of the time. It is cool that in the second Guild Wars that this has changed and now they are trying to get along. The Charr and Humans still don't always get along but they are trying and that is the important part. This area is special because of all the Guild Wars 1 references and because you can see where the last story left off and where this one starts. It is important because it tells the story of the importance of getting along and working together, and shows the struggles that are faced when you try to keep fighting for the wrong cause. Unity is important and I'm glad that that lesson is shown here.
Why not start out with a funny picture XD, he didn't know I was trying to take a screenshot so he jumped in mid picture XD. Personally I think that World of Warcraft is the best place to find that special someone as I met 2 of my boyfriends there and two people who I dated but I think MMO's in general are a great place (I haven't been single the whole time I've been playing Guild Wars 2 so I'm not sure how it stacks up XD). Why do MMO's make a great place for finding that special gamer, because you can get to know someone on a more personal level in MMO's. With MOBAs or FPS you go into a game and get out of one without really having to talk to people. With MMO's if you are doing things like raids or dungeons you will usually end up in a chat serves (like discord, teamspeak, ventrilo ect...), and this helps to really bond with someone. I've met some of the best friends I ever had through gaming, and it is great to be able to do something you love with someone you might fall in love with. There is that age old "joke" about the significant other nagging the gamer to stop playing so they can spend time together, one of the great things about dating another gamer is that this isn't a problem. You both know you already like to do something together and can even really get to know each other before taking a next step. My boyfriend and I had known each other as friends for about a year before we started dating and not long after that, we moved in together (we lived in different states so this was the only way for us to really be together in real life). And now it has been almost 6 years, I love him very much, and wouldn't have it any other way. One of the really great things about meeting someone through an MMO is that you get to know the person because of their personality, not because of their looks. Looks will fade over time (unless you have a lot of plastic surgery I suppose) but their personality will still be there, and that is a pretty important part to fall in love with. So if you find yourself looking for a significant other, I think an MMO is a great place to look, best dating sites out there in my opinion XD (and a lot more fun XD). I ended up meeting my boyfriend because I switched guilds, we actually merged guilds so that way we could raid. You would be surprised at how often you find the person you are meant to be with when you aren't looking or even when you've given up on finding them. I've talked to a lot of people who met their significant other through MMO's and have had very successful relationships because of it (you know you already like doing something together so that is a great start!). If you're really looking for that person you could always try joining a new guild or go about meeting people in general. Whether you are looking for a significant other, best friend, or just friends in general, MMO's are a great place to look, and you get a lot of enjoyment along the way! CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft Mental health is something that is almost laughed at and has been treated poorly through out history. The insane asylums were pretty scary. A person's mental health impacts everything they do. The saying "misery loves company" comes from somewhere. This idea that a person (normally a guy) shouldn't show their emotions is crazy and pretty unhealthy. We should be talking about things more, but we need to do that as adults. This means sitting down and actually listening to each other not listening to respond, and what I mean by that is very important. When you are talking to someone who you disagree with do you really hear them? Or do you stop listening once they say something offends you and are just waiting to fire back a response? More than likely you are doing the second, we all do. Humans are passionate beings but sometimes we let that passion override out thoughts and our capacity to think logically. Controlling our emotions and more importantly understanding them is something very important. You know that one thing that really bothers you and is eating away at your soul but you say nothing about? That isn't healthy and I know we don't like conflict but holding the conflict within ourselves is just as bad. If you don't know why something is eating you up inside take the time to figure it out. I can't tell you the way to do this because for everyone it is different and what bothers them is different, but if there is someone hurting you and they don't know they are doing that it is probably time to tell them. The other thing about this is, is what your feeling really important or are you making a bigger deal out of something because of something else? A lot of times our past can come back to haunt us especially if we've had traumatic experiences that doesn't mean that the situation in the present is really that bad, but it is easy to get worked up over nothing because of this. For example, I had a lot of shit happen when I was in high school and for a long time I let those experiences haunt me to the point that I was putting them on my boyfriend. I would get upset over nothing, over some misconception I created in my brain, instead of just asking him why he did something or talking to him and saying "can you please not do this because ect..." and it wasn't healthy. So, as some advice if you are upset about something first ask the person who is making you upset why they did something and you might often find that there was nothing to be upset about in the first place. If you do have real reason to be upset talk to the person but do it when you are calm going into a screaming/crying match isn't going to help anything. It is okay to talk to people if they are doing something that bothers you, but don't expect everyone to change because they are doing something you don't like. In some instance you may have to accept that people are going to do things you don't like and that is up to you to control how you feel about that. Closing thoughts, if you do nothing to change you situation nothing will change. So if you want something to be better you have to take the time to change it, and is important that you do so. If you want something you have to go and do the work to get it, mental health included. You will have to be alone with you so much sure you like who you are. CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft Supports don't make as much gold as everyone else, and then on top of it they have to buy the sightstone and gold items. The gold item is fine, it is a nice starter item that evolves but it could be better at its end stages. Giving the support 2 slots one for wards and one for a scanner would be perfect. Everyone could have it but only the support role would have it fill with something. This could upgrade over time so at the beginning you wouldn't be able to put as many wards and as you hit certain levels it would upgrade upon going to the base and getting the free new one.
Instead of having this role put on the support what I think would be cool would to be to vote, in champion select you could vote for who gets this extra item to upgrade. Personally I think it would make more sense for jungles, this way they could ward for any lane. You could even just decrease the cooldown on the trinket wards, and make it so that the other people are the main warders and the support is the ward clearer. A lot of people don't like playing support because you aren't as strong as everyone else. Which sucks, it makes it not very fun especially with a mandatory item that doesn't do a whole lot for you. 800g could easily be half of an item otherwise. As a support main I would love to see this changed. It would improve the feel of support if you were able to be on a even playing field with the other lanes (especially if you pick a damage support). I want to feel like my job is just as important as anyone else's, and that I can really feel like I can carry the game. I felt like this all of the other seasons (I started playing season 2 but didn't really do ranked until season 3), but the season 7 has not felt as kind. Giving me the opportunity to do more damage would help to compete with these buffed assassins and that is something I really hope for. 3/17/2017 0 Comments Crocheting as a process.Because I make up my own patterns there is a lot that goes into making each one of my items. If it is something that someone is going to wear I have to figure out the sizing (or the number of stitches needed to fit the person correctly). I normally with take things apart a couple times before getting to the end goal. With things like amigurumis (plushies) I do this even more so. I will visualize all of the pieces in my head and from there I think about what I need to do to bring those pieces to life. If I don't know how to do something I will look up videos but most of the time I am just solving the puzzle in my head. I picture the way things look based off of what I've already done or have seen someone do, think about the different stitches it would take to make that and how I can go about making all of these unique shapes.
For raptor kitty, I had to take two creatures and put them together, normally I will go off of pictures and then replicate what I see as best as I can, but with this one I was only replicating parts and feelings. I wanted raptor kitty to represent me, and the silly person I am. So I wanted her to have the sweet kitty face but also the raptor like feel, I'd assume it is the same type of thinking that would go into making pokemon, as they are normally a mesh of two creatures (I actually used to make up new pokemon with my dad when I was little). I tried crocheting her claws and eyes but didn't like them so I switched for felt instead and the same goes for the bow I tried to crochet it but it just wasn't right so I went into my ribbon stash (ribbons I've accumulated over the years some were on presents or other things, and some were presents) and put this pretty white one on her :). There is a lot that goes into each of the pieces I make especially when it comes to custom orders. I want to make everything perfect, special, and unique, and I think I do a pretty good job of that! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! 3/16/2017 0 Comments Ammen Vale, in World of WarcraftThis is one of the other areas I feel at home. Blood Elves and Draenei are my favorite races. I like that this starting zone is full of trying to help the survivors, and undo the damage that was caused when the Draenei ship crashed. It isn't just about helping their own people, but also about the environment that they wrought havoc on. Draenei are a beautiful race that is full over love and kindness, and that really draws me in. It tugs at my heart strings and makes me think about their message. I always thought their racial was cool, being a healer and a tank main having an extra heal is right up my ally. This area feels like it is full of both corruption and purity. The broken spaceship parts caused mutations in the existing life, but the Draenei are seeking to undo this. They want to fix what they've done even if they didn't mean to do it. There is something beautiful in that, its not always easy to admit our wrongs, especially when they were on accident. CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft There is a choose your own story feel to questing in Guild Wars 2. I can go ahead and complete the quests a bunch of different ways. I could go and pick poison plants and whetstones and turn them in, use unstable explosives, set traps or kill centaurs and smash their supplies, and I really like this. Usually I will choose not to fight but instead do the collecting part and/or feeding animals (one of my all time favorite parts of quests) and it might be slower but I can still do it that way if I want to and I do want to. It isn't a rigid system, and on top of it a dynamic event could start in the area that would help with quest progression (and I love that).
Do you remember the choose your adventure books? Because that is what this reminds me of, regardless of how I help I am still helping the citizens of Tyria, and if you are someone like me who is making multiple legendaries this is especially nice because the quests don't get as repetitive. The next time I come and do this quest on a different character I could do it a different way. I am the type of person who likes to float around from one thing to the next seamlessly and with these quests I can do that, I could still be getting quest progression but hop from doing one part of the quest objective to the next and still finish my end goal (map completion). Completing the maps can be a long journey (there are a lot of zones), but this doesn't make it feel as bad. If I had to do map completion in WoW for example that would be very painful, as there are a lot of quests that you would have to do over and over again, and they are very rigid quests. Since you get a piece that you need from map completion to make the original legendaries you have to do it on multiple characters if you want multiple legendaries. I don't actually mind completing a zone in WoW but I only want to ever have to do it once. I am really glad that Guild Wars 2 gives you options, I can quests my own way and enjoy doing the quests multiple different ways! 3/14/2017 0 Comments The Bright SideI know that sometimes it feels like life is getting you down and that everything is going wrong but it is important to look on the bright side! That doesn't mean that you shouldn't feel emotions, like the grief you feel after a family member or pet dies. Those are very important emotions that you need to deal with to heal. But it does mean not letting the little things get you down, like a realizing you are out of toothpaste, someone being an asshole and cutting you off while driving, someone being a jerk on the internet and so on. The things that won't matter in ten years, those things are the ones that you need to let go of, because holding onto them is only hurting you.
So ,how do you change your attitude about those things because no one likes having those little annoying things happen. Sometimes it take time to learn how to let go of these little things but the best way I've found is changing the situation in my head. Instead of paying attention to the things that annoy me, I pay attention to something good that has happened recently and it can be something small but something I really appreciate. Like just getting food from the grocery store or having something I'm looking forward to eating later, getting a sale that I am excited about, making something and having the person love it and so on. There are many wonderful things happening every day and it is important to be grateful for those things. I found a sweatshirt on sale for $4 a little bit ago and I am super happy about that. Some of my long sleeve shirts are pretty holey and getting a new one for so cheap is a pretty big deal. It may not seem like much to some people but if you enjoy the little victories in life, you will enjoy life more. I am someone who is pretty easy to please and that is great. I consider going out and doing errands dates with my boyfriend, getting a pomegranate as a pretty special present, and love crocheting (all around it is a wonderful experience) and my life is happier because of that. It is happier because I choose to see it that way and that is a wonderful choice to make :). |
