5/21/2017 0 Comments Gliders, Guild Wars 2There are a ton of different gliders now, and I'm sure there will be many more. I think it is really cool that they've been making it so you can dye a lot of them (especially that you can dye the particle effects). I don't actually have any of the ones you can dye but I do like seeing people with them! My boyfriend has this one and has it in blue and purple and it leaves a really pretty trail and has a pretty cool look over all. The only thing about it that I wish was that you could dye the backpiece too because it would be pretty cool to have the two in unison. This one is one of my favorites, I wish I had gotten it when it was in the store, as it is really pretty and I love the little rainbows that come off it and the over all crystal like feel to it (like me? :O). When it comes back it is one of the ones I really want to get it! It would look beautiful on so many of my characters! I actually really like this one too, but it is also pretty creepy seeing as phantoms come by to carry you. It definitely feels like a Halloween skin (which was what it was for) and has the right amount of eerie and cool. I'm not sure that I would actually use it, if I had it, seeing as it is creepy but I really do like it, and I haven't actually seen anyone using it in game, which to a certain extent makes it even cooler because of its rarity. Leave it off on a funny one right? So this glider still makes me giggle. I kind of want it just because of silliness factor. Having the little celestial roosters flap around to carry you is pretty silly looking. I hope they make some other silly ones too because I get a kick out of them. Maybe they could do one that is "when pigs fly" or something like that. It would be pretty cool if one was like a unicorn/pegasus too (as long as it didn't make the noise that Dreamer makes, I actually like the bow but I'm not a big fan of the neighing, which is kind of funny because my mom actually really likes that about it). I can't wait to see what else they come up with, I'm sure they have some pretty cool ideas in store!

I did a different blog to show them without the comparison but I thought it would be nice to show them together here. The half shirt I still think looks nice either way but having it just sit there not being worn it looks much more like a smiley face! You can also see the little floof it gets better when it is worn. I wanted to do colors that were like water, so I also wanted it to have a very free and flowy feel to it! I am really happy with how it turned out, and am super in love with these colors, they are so soft and pretty together, and have a very peaceful feel to them! The summer top I feel shows best how different they can look on verses just sitting there. These colors are a little crazy for me usually I don't wear things with so many different colors, but I really liked the warm earthy feel of this yarn (and it was a gift for my birthday so it seemed fitting to make something for myself with it :)). Warm colors tend to look nice on my skin tone so I figured they would look nice as a top for me :). The bralette doesn't look that different to me, but I do think it would look nicer on someone who has that baby butt cleavage. The way I made this one has a style that would make that kind of cleavage look really nice! I really like how I made it have an hour glass feel to it with there being an open triangle at the bottom and could definitely see it worn on a hot day, especially to the beach!
All of these are actually pretty cool, I know sometimes people think that because they are made of yarn they are going to be warm but that isn't the case. If the holes are big enough they can definitely cool. My personal favorite is the half shirt, it reminds me of the ocean, and of all the pictures I've seen of tropical waters. I think I would like the bralette more if I had the right cleavage for it, but it still looks nice. I would love to see it on someone with the baby butt cleavage and see it at its full potential! The colors I made these in are my preference but I have so many more colors that they would look good in and a lot more ideas for other shirts! I see it all the time where something new in a game comes out so the company posts it on their social media and instead of being excited about the new thing people are complaining about something else. I've actually tried to stop reading the comments because of this. And I want to state that there is a huge difference between complaining and suggestions. You can very easily suggest something without it having to take away from this cool new thing and put that suggestion in a better place. It seems like one of those moments where people forget to stop and smell the roses. Not only did we just get something new in game but on top of that a lot of work probably went into giving us this new thing, and I honestly feel bad that the people who created these things aren't being praised more for them. Sure not everything is going to be my style or the next persons style but that doesn't mean we have to react negatively to it. Someone put a lot of time and effort into this thing and that is beautiful whether it is my kind of beautiful or not.
It is just a little reminder, to see the bright side of things and that there is a better way to go about giving criticisms (which as a secondary reminder criticisms are not useful unless they are constructive). I'm sure every one of us has worked hard on something and seen others work hard on something then had someone to come along and stomp all over it (metaphorically or physically) and it sucked. Those people receiving all those bad messages, all that negativity are just people like you and me. Morals of the story. If someone works hard at something they should be praised (even if it isn't our personal preference), there is a better way to go about giving criticisms that just being negative and toxic (if you don't know how to fix it/make it better, why criticize? Suggestion are better, it is easier to improve or change something when you know which direction to go), and do unto others what you'd want done to you, would you like to receive so many negative message about something completely different than what the post was about? And seriously look on the bright side, we just got this shiny new thing in a game! That should be an exciting event!! Guild Wars 2 does something really special with their living story, in adding new zones along the way, on top of the four Heart of Thorns zones. They've been doing this with the living story even before Heart of Thorns came out and there is something really unique about this. When I think about WoW and how there are five zones (about) added each expansion, I think about the differences between the games. I've never played a game like this where so many full zones are released later as part of the story. Before even playing Guild Wars 2 I thought it would be cool for there to be an interactive movie, where you played through part of it and watched part of it. Now I realize it makes a lot more sense to have it be a movie within a game, like Guild Wars 2 does it. It drives the story just like a movie would be driven and just like in a movie you end up in new areas, and in zones that feel like new worlds. This is important because it helps to bring the game to life. I'm not just going to the zones to help people to level, gather, ect... I am going there because it is part of my story. It is part of what makes my character who they are and how they learn to battle the dragon along the way. The new zones are an accumulation of the story, and which makes them more special than the normal zones, especially because they get unlocked as you go along. You already have an emotional attachment to them, because of the journey your character takes. I can tell that a lot of work goes into these zones, and that is something that is really neat and impressive. In all honesty I just wish they where getting payed more for their work, because I can tell that along with these zones and another expansions worth of content that there is so much more they want to do. I appreciate the new zones, and the story that goes along with them. It pulls me in, and I gotta say it has some pretty good cliff hangers, unique characters, and interesting and beautiful places to visit.
In a world where you fight the dragons, demons, and pretty much anything else that would cause your faction harm, it seems fitting to have some pretty crazy gear. I like the style of the rather over the top gear, having hammer with molten lava inside, crowns made of fire, and an ornate tabard somehow seems to work perfectly together. I like that a Tauren's shoulder armor is much larger than their head. It seems fitting for their race and definitely would keep them protected in battle. I personally wouldn't say I play games for things to be ordinary. I play them because they are extraordinary, so having things that are extraordinary, like some crazy armor adds to the over all essence of the game. Do I think its cool that his shoulders have a unique glow to them? Definitely. Would it be realistic to go into battle like that? Most certainly not, but that is part of the fun of it. Taking something that was cool like armor, and taking it away from being practical to being phenomenal. Since there is no need for it to be practical, it can be whatever we want, which allows for so much creativity. If it weren't for it getting in the way, being heavy, hot, and really only worn for battle wouldn't it be cool to wear armor? Instead of trying to do that in real life it makes a lot more sense to make a character that can do all of these things without being held back by the downside of armor. It is a dream for many of us, to be the knight in shining armor. To be the hero, and getting to be whoever we want in whatever crazy outfit fulfills a little piece of that dream. For me being able to mix match, and put all of it together to make my character look epic is something I look forward to. If we could find a way to make things light up and be practical (there are some things that do that, but are more difficult to wash). I feel like we would definitely do unique things with it. Like crazy shoulders, with light coming out of them (they would be good at night too), until that day though I will definitely settle for some crazy armor in WoW!
After visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier I realized that I was so busy trying to learn everything I could that I wasn't really seeing things. I was jumping from place to place so quickly that I wasn't enjoying the journey. Even though I came into this world not that long ago, each day could be my last. For these brave souls it was, and their memories will be filled with honor but I wonder if they got to enjoy their journey or not. From this moment forward I want to explore, but really explore and enjoy my journey. There is so much beauty to be seen, so many nights to bask in the pale moon light, so much to learn, and I need to slow down to do that. I know a dragon awaits me and that it my destiny is to defeat it, but my path there is my own and I may as well enjoy it along the way. Each new day brings something special, a chance to be who I want to be, a chance to smell the roses, a chance to feel the cool breeze, and listen to beautiful music. I intend to take those chances. I decided to go towards the water, as it is something I haven't encountered much of. This water is so clear and blue, it feels almost soft on my skin, like the touch of a welcomed friend. Other than some unhappy beasts it is very peaceful, it feels like an important part of me, one that I should cherish. The fish are nearly as large as me which is both exciting and terrifying. If one gets too hungry it may be able to swallow me whole! Luckily they seem mostly indifferent to my presence, and I do not seem like their type. They seem to like eating vines that grow at the bottom. After a brisk swim, and managing to evade some pirates I found a rather amazing fortress. The walls go so far into the sky, and they even seem to have their own air ship. It is amazing, and a bit ominous. I am hoping the friendly humans built this structure or it maybe a rather imposing piece of architecture. Friendly people did indeed build it! Though I do not think the humans built it alone seeing as many different races reside here. The Vigil, they seem to be a set of various races, all training to protect Tyria. The Sylvari here are not as friendly as I am used to, something big seems to be looming over their minds. I suppose training to fight great enemies could do that to you. They are armed to the teeth, but I can't help but to enjoy their amazing view. I can see almost all of the Gendarran Fields from up here. It is stunning. I wonder if they could help me prepare to face the dragon. They have so many weapons, armor, soldiers, and teachers. Maybe I will have to come back here when I know more about my path. For now though, I wish to just be a leaf in the wind.
After exploring the Brisban Wildlands it was time to move on. I was told that humans had control of the Gendarran Fields, and since they were right off of Lion's Arch I thought I would take my adventure there next. The human areas feel like a home away from home, it is nice that the people are friendly and warm and they have such pretty flowers! They are like soft little friends that whisper in the wind, gently tickling my arms and legs, I had to sit with them and enjoy their company for a bit. They are so happy and beautiful even in the dead of night! I quickly realized that the foes right outside of Lion's Arch were much stronger than me. Their poison burned so bad. It occurred to me that the humans probably would not come from Lion's Arch they would come from the Kessex Hills, so I decided to go in that direction. Here I found enemies I could handle, and a brilliant little fort! There seems to be a problem with the risen here so they built it to keep them out, with the gates open it doesn't completely stop them but it has helped to quell the numbers that get inside. Night time is my favorite time, I feel so invigorated by the moons pale light. The human structures are so cute, little homes and villages dot the landscape but instead of sticking out it feels like they fit in. The poor humans here are injured. I do not know why the centaur and humans cannot live in peace but the centaurs only seem to want battle! All around the Seraph lay injured and dying. These poor things! And the Skelk do not seem to be helping, what a mess they are making attacking the Seraph on top of the Centaur threat! I, at least was able to mend many wounds, and bring many of them back from the brink, I even helped them get back to camp, and fend off the Skelk as best as I could. Hopefully this village will be in for happier days now! So many cities popping up out of no where. This one is probably my favorite, it is much larger and has a wonderful flaming beacon at the top, the fire can be seen from so far away at night, it feels like a safe harbor. Inside that is what it seems to be troops are training and being sent off to protect other villages, villagers are working, and there is even a place to remember the fallen in sweet yet sad memories. At least they live on in this way and the heroism is known for many generations. They are the guardians of their people and that is something truly noble.
5/14/2017 0 Comments Before Wearing Them.My mom wanted me to try on this one shirt a long time ago, it was a mix of pink, green, and black (each color being a little more dull instead of super bright), and I was like that really isn't my style... seeing as those colors weren't really my thing especially together. But I tried it on anyways and it actually looked really nice on me, between the colors and the way the shirt was designed it made my body look really nice. I've come to realize that clothes look a lot different just sitting there, than they do when you are actually wearing them. This one is a great example of that because it looks way, way better on than it does just sitting here. The colors look kind of crazy and it seems like it may not look that good on but when I actually wear it is looks a billion times better. I still think this one looks cool sitting there, it does kind of look like a rather happy face too though! Even just sitting there it has the soft ocean feel that I wanted, and I am really happy with how it turned out. The plan is to move somewhere warm so I have been working on a bunch of different styles of these. I have always liked half shirts so making these is right up my ally and should keep me nice and cool when it is hot! I do think that each of these look much better on than they do sitting here. Flat they don't really show off how well they fit the body, but regardless I still think they look pretty cool! And I am sure you will see what I mean when I actually take pictures in them!
Yog is probably the scariest of gods out of the ones released at the moment. He is also the one that is best for destruction. His tentacles allow him to destroy structures where others cannot and up until making him I didn't really think you could make a scary amigurumi, but I was wrong seeing as he is a pretty intimidating fellow! I did some pretty unique things to bring him to life, and am pretty proud of myself for figuring out how to make the shape of his head, it couldn't just be a normal circle because that just isn't how Yog's head is, through increasing in the correct spots I managed to make that unique shape. He has razor sharp teeth, a crazy tongue, tusks that are ready for a fight, and menacing tentacles, most of all I feel like I captured his essence. Normally I do cute and cheery things and making him was out of my wheel house. I am glad that I stepped out of it to know that I can make something scary and ominous as well. All of his different parts add up to a pretty unique process and experience. Before putting the tongue, teeth, and eyes on he was pretty cute! He is not up on my Etsy at the moment but the button does take you to the Amigurumis section. I do custom orders though and would definitely be willing to make him again!
After Orkus death I went home for a bit, I was expecting to care about him but his heroism endeared me to him. I didn't feel like myself after, and had to get some fresh air, with some beautiful Blood Elf buildings in that background. It is such a cheery place I don't know how anyone's spirits wouldn't be lifted there. I knew I had a duty because the Alliance were coming but even upon my return it didn't go well. I can't blame him. Even in the short time that I've known the Forsaken, and seen just a handful of the terrible things they've done, is enough for a life time. I can only imagine what this Orc has seen. He is missing the point though, the Alliance are coming to attack and more than just the Forsaken may die without his aid. Begrudgingly I took the information back to High Warlord Cromush. He did not take it well. His plan of "we will be fine" seems brazen and foolhardy. My thoughts seem to have been instantly justified as we talked about what they had planned in SI:7. Scores of soldiers, tanks, and weapons lie just above Tarren Mill, the ridges just above being their hide out. From the notes their army sounds vast, and I've been sent to blow it up with unstable goblin explosives all alone. I hope that this doesn't end in my death as well. I really wish I knew the ways of the rogue right now. The banshees coming along and picking up weak humans was a little unsettling. I am glad they are on my side or some of those horror stories I was told when little may have been coming true. They either have a lot of faith in me, or no one else to do this job. Either way this camp is teaming with dwarves. If it wasn't for my elemental I may not have made it through. The undead are not above poison, I felt dirty every step of the way. I guess sometimes we have to do things that are unpalatable to save our people. I just wish they thought of a different way, it sounded like a slow agonizing death... After I finished setting explosives, I figured I would do some of the quests along the way back to Tarren Mill, and I do not think the Duskingdawn's Wand was working as intended. It was supposed to infuse the target with love and adoration, and instead it made the fawns murderous. I don't know what she did to the wand but it seems to have a little extra kick to it... and the yeti is quite the brute as well. The first time I tried to kill him I died and had to get my soul back to my body before it was too late. the second time I made sure to use everything I had to be able to defeat him. We could see the explosions for miles. It was really something to behold. I feel better knowing the Alliance plans were thwarted and that Orkus did not die in vain.
