2/18/2017 0 Comments Guild Wars 2 PopulationAt first when I was writing some blogs my heart sank because I wasn't seeing very many people, and then I finally realized there was a new build that I hadn't done XD. Whoops, There are enough people around me that they aren't even all loading :D. It is kind of hard to tell in this picture because the particle effects are covering up a lot of people but there was a zerg of people running around doing events and a couple of commander tags leading different groups :). I don't know how many times I've seen people say this game is dying or World of Warcraft is dying but the amount of people in the games fluctuates based on what content is being put out and neither game has died yet, and I personally don't see any reason either would die anytime soon! And one of the nice things when it comes to Guild Wars 2 are the mega servers, so even when the population is less there will still always be people to play with on the mega servers :). Overall it still seems good to me, and I'm not worried about anything happening to Guild Wars 2. As they release more and more living story content it brings people back, and with each SPvP season more people come to PvP. And I personally will gladly keep coming back to this game!!

2/17/2017 0 Comments Stylish GlovesI was trying to figure out what I could crochet for family that lives in warmer areas and this is what I came up with. I know my normal gloves would be too warm and impractical, so I went with this as some pretty little fashion gloves. They are kind of like fishnet gloves which I think is pretty cool. I always loved fishnet ever since my goth phase in high school, and in all honesty I haven't stopped loving the clothing! Once I made the first set I wondered what other lengths would be like, this way you could use them with various different outfits. These ones are the medium length, and are about the size of my normal gloves. I could seem them looking nice under some sleeves and I think they would be pretty cool in black as well. I went with the Blacklight yarn to mix it up. I've always thought this yarn was pretty cool fading from pink to purple to black is a nice color scheme. I like the way the long version turned out. I personally think it could look cool in red or crimson too! I'm sure all of the colors would look good on it, I just like red or crimson because they fit with the goth theme! I made all of the gloves the right length so stripes could be added to them. I think some nice priest stripes would go great on this! They would be super happy with some priest stripes!
All around I love these gloves, I think they turned out great and were fun to make. They would work great with a bunch of different outfits, and are cool enough that they could be worn in spring, summer, and fall, if your in a warm area I'm sure you could even wear them in winter and be content! My priest was the first character that I really fell in love with. I started with a hunter like most people, got them to max level and then stopped. It just wasn't my thing. It wasn't until I started playing the priest that I really felt I found my character, my place in WoW. My favorite thing about priests was that they had two healing specs, while holy has always been my favorite I liked doing disc in pvp. I haven't played disc at all since Legion came out but thankfully they left holy alone for the most part. I've taken my priest on many adventures, even though I don't do most of the solo stuff that I like doing with her (like old raids or questing), I still find myself always going back to her. If I am going to do new content for real, my priest is the one I will take. I get bored if things are too easy, and I've always found dps to be too easy, and I've never liked it because of that. When I started playing my priest is was also during a time when I felt like I had no control in my life. All these bad things were happening and I couldn't stop or change any of them. With my priest I felt like I was in control. I held my parties life or death in my hands and that was powerful for me. When you feel like you have no control over anything getting a little sliver of control can be a big deal, it can make you feel less hopeless and more whole again. My priest will always have a special place in my heart, as playing her gave me something I felt like I didn't have anywhere else. I still love it today, playing the characters that have control, that can truly turn the tides of a game, whether it is Zyra as support in League of Legends, or Mercy in Overwatch. I am drawn to the characters that hold life and death in their hands. The characters that can tip the scale in one direction or the other. My priest inspires me to play those characters, and I wouldn't want it any other way :).
The Corrupted Noble. I am actually considering changing one of my characters outfits to this (I always thought that helm was cool but until doing this I didn't know what to pair it with XD) Bloodstone Crown Sorcerer's Epaulets Aurora Garb Primitive Handwraps Leystone Pants Illustrious Footwear Golden Feather Wings Backpack Azimuth And the dyes are Rosewood (for all the reds except the red in the boots, that is Crimson Lion), Perseverance, and Celestial. Frost Fairy Icelord's Light Diadem Winter's Presence Carapace Vestments Embroidered Wristguards Winged Pants Embroidered Sandals Glittering Wings Backpack Corrupted Branch And the dyes are Glint's Crystal, Ghost, and Celestial. The Assassin Mage
Seer Mask Cabalist Shoulders Inquest Vest Devout Gloves Embroidered Pants Student Shoes Daredevil Staff No BackPack And it is in Charcoal dye (although Abyss would probably be better but I don't have it XD, I don't usually use blacks so I never bought it XD) 2/14/2017 0 Comments HeartsI personally don't do a lot for Valentine's Day, my boyfriend and I get each other little gifts all year round! It doesn't really matter to me what day they fall on! That doesn't stop me from wanting to make things for people who do celebrate Valentine's Day, or any day if you like to get loved ones little gifts all year round! I have seen some little necklaces with hearthstone hearts and thought they were cute, and I thought that a little plushy would be even better! I mean whats better than something you can snuggle! I made the little golden quest heart awhile back, and thought it was super cute then (especially when pikachu is holding it) but now with the little hearthstone heart I think it is even better! The two together look great and are like two peas in a pod! Once I had finished the hearthstone heart I put it on my boyfriend's desk so that he would wake up to having a little heart waiting for him and he enjoyed it! I'm sure other people would too!
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone celebrating and I hope the everyone else is having a wonderful day too! There are plenty of days in the year to show the people you love how much you care! 2/13/2017 0 Comments ScarsYou know that when you see a character in a game with a scars that they are a badass, and I believe this to be true in real life too. I like my scars, they prove to me that I was stronger than whatever tried to hurt me. I am actually kind of disappointed that one of them went away after putting cocoa butter on it twice (that stuff is magic). I had this pretty cool scar that was about 4-5 inches long on my arm in a straight line, it came from running into the refrigerator door handle with a hot cookie pan (surprisingly I didn't drop the cookie pan when it burned me, I didn't want the dogs eating the chocolate in the cookies XD). It looked pretty awesome when it healed and more like a thin knife scar or something like that. I think it is important to be proud of your scars, whether you can see them or not it is important to realize that you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you. There is a certain beauty to scars because of this. I still have a little scar from them burning off endometriosis in my belly button, the other incision scar healed. I was in so much pain for so long and they didn't even believe I had endometriosis, but did an exploratory laparoscopy because they didn't know what was wrong with me. I was pretty sure but nervous and it turned out I was right. I was right all along, and finally I had fixed it. The scar is a reminded that I was in pain for so long but I over came that. I found the solution even when others didn't really believe it would fix anything and now I'm healed and better. So, many times better than I was, and that is important because even in the face of adversity I persevered, and I am stronger now because of it. Always remember that scars are a show of strength, if you have them let them remind you that you are strong. You beat something that tried to hurt you, you won the battle and that is a testament of your strength! CategoriesAll Crochet Guild Wars 2 League Of Legends Life Overwatch World Of Warcraft Sometimes I wonder what the game would be like if instead of making expansions, they made a World of Warcraft 2. Where would they take the lore? How many years after the first World of Warcraft would it be? What would they do differently? Having the original game is a lot of learning experience and they would already know some of the things players do and don't like. While I don't think a World of Warcraft 2 would be coming anytime soon it is interesting to imagine. I think they would definitely update the graphics of course but would stick with the cartoony style. They've already updated the character models and the environment in Legion looks nicer than the older expansions, so this seems like the direction they would go.
I also think that they would make it like Guild Wars 2 with dyes. I feel like that would be a big thing that people would enjoy and if they didn't already have the game set the way it is, that it would have been something they would have added now. They already make different sets of the same armor in different colors, but dyes add a whole new level to the armor. You can really make something your own with dyes. Seeing as they added scaling like in Guild Wars 2 I also think they would add dynamic events, like the legion pre-event. It adds something nice to the game and I am down with them adding this. I also think they would keep world quests like in Legion and scaling. One of the things about scaling is that it makes the content never get old. Which has a good and a bad side to it but it would make it so people who would start the game later would still have to play it like it was meant to be played and so that people returning would as well. Other than that I don't know what they would change. The rest of the game seems to be working pretty well for them. Maybe they would add class halls from the start? Or perhaps they would have actual housing. Maybe they would make the world completely different, almost unrecognizable like the differences between Draenor and Outlands. My biggest wonder is where would they take the lore. I personally have loved seeing how they took the lore from Guild Wars to Guild Wars 2, there are things I remember from the first game and seeing them or hearing the characters tell stories about them is pretty cool. The evolution of the game would definitely be unique, and while I don't think it would happen anytime soon I am very curious about what it would be like! I still remember when I started playing and being in awe of how beautiful this game is. I talk about this a lot when it comes to Guild Wars 2, but how much I love looking at this game has never changed. I've been playing since beta and I still can't get over how beautiful it is or how many small details went into making this wonderful world. I remembered in beta watching this sprinklers go around and around, and I still love them. This little farm was one of the first things I encountered and I loved doing the quests helping with crops and animals. There has always been something very magical about Queensdale to me, it is the zone I have repeated on pretty much every character! You can't see them in the picture but there were a bunch of people trying to rez someone who was dead right under it XD. They happened to go to rez right as I took the picture and its kind of hard to, take good pictures without dying so I just went with this one XD. I feel excited to see other players, knowing that they can help with doing dynamic events, and world bosses. We are all working together towards the same goal, so I never feel frustration when I see another player. People and a lot of minions preparing to jump into the hole and get their loot! All the glorious chests to be had! I just caught the end of the people as a lot of people had already jumped down XD. I am happy to see them and to see the mentor tag that was popped so any new players would know where to go!
Doing PvE in Guild Wars 2 is a great experience. You can do the quests in multiple different ways, gather and group with people for one event or multiple, and most of the people are pretty nice so if you ask a question in map chat you are likely to get a good answer (and not a trolly one). PvE is one of my favorite things to do in Guild Wars 2 because it is relaxing. You don't have to look very far to find help and can always look forward to seeing other players! 2/10/2017 0 Comments What is Art and Creativity?Art is the embodiment of passion, it is the creation of something beautiful, and one of the truest expressions of oneself. I love art it is amazing and magical. Art is unique in the fact that their are no rules (some people may try to tell you their are but there aren't). You can make art out of pretty much anything and it can be a creation that only you understand or one that takes the whole world by storm. It doesn't matter which, as long as it means something to you. Art to me is seeing something in my head and then bringing it into existence. It is seeing Sylvanas hood in game and wanting it to be in real life, and then finding a way to do it. If you set your mind to something you can do pretty much anything and that is the soul of art. Putting your all into something and then going and creating it. What is better than that? Humans are creative beings, we are problem solvers and that is creative. Being able to combine pieces of things until they fit neatly, is a form of creativity. Raptor kitty is probably my favorite things that I've made because I made her for me and she is my own design, I didn't try to replicate something I made something my own. She is an embodiment of my silliness and how I see myself, she is a piece of me. I really like replicating things, it is like a puzzle I have to solve and I will undo something until I am satisfied with how it looks. I think I've taken apart something that was almost finished at least five times before because it just wasn't right. I do that over and over again until I figure it out, and I do that with everything I'm learning. I will take something apart and redo it until I figure out how it is supposed to work, and that is something beautiful about me. I get that from my dad who used to take apart all of the toys when he was little because he wanted to know how they worked. I am the same way I want to understand, I love to understand. It is amazing when you break simple objects down into the parts, you'd be surprised at how much really goes into something. How many times someone had to take something apart and redo it before the figured out the perfect way to do it. I figured out how to make each of these things myself and I may have watched videos to learn certain things but then I took knowledge and made it my own, which I think is one of the most beautiful things. I love seeing people take something and make it their own because everyone chooses a different path. Its beautiful to see how people think and how they see things and that is my favorite part of Art and Creativity.
Sometimes life feels more like RNG on that mount drop, where it is uncertain but the thing is that mount does drop, which I think people forget sometimes. The more you work at something, the more success you will see. It may be like that ever illusive mount but at some point it will drop. Working for something in a video game proves that we can find a way to get whatever the goal is. It proves that perseverance is worth while. Butt, butt, butt. (I hope you read that in the minions voices XD). I wanted this mount for sooooooooo long and tried a bunch of times to get it. The headless horseman's mount because all of my holy characters are supposed to be riding undead horse. That is just the way it is XD, I loved the irony since I started playing and there is no reason to stop now. And finally it dropped, I was so surprised because it was on one of the last days. This mount proves to me that as long as you are persistent you will get the mount. You will get what you want as long as you keep working towards the goal. I know sometimes it's rough and seems hopeless but, for all you know if you give up it could be right before you'd strike gold. Right before you would accomplish your goal.
Life has taught me this over and over again, but I think the most fun way to learn this lesson is in Video Games. The never give up, never surrender is built into the games, if you want to get something you have to keep working for it, and this may be one of the most valuable lessons in life. If people give up on their dreams before completing them, the world will miss out on some wonderful ideas. Don't let the graveyard be the riches place, where so many ideas leave the Earth. The harder you try the closer you are to your goal, even if it doesn't seem like it, each step forward is important. If what you are doing isn't working, try something different, look for advice and research, but for the love of God keep trying! It is important to me, and should be important to you that you make those dreams a reality, because beautiful things come from perseverance. Be the hero of your story, and never give up, and never surrender. You got this! I believe in you! |
